WB 18 frees to STK 8

once again the elephant in the room is the high difference between our free's for and against. Continue like this and it will cost us games. A talk to the umpiring department about this, maybe focusing on schneider, milne and rucking contests could reduce the free's given away and perhaps might get us a few also

Well if they do decide to go down that path I hope they've learned the lessons of history.Solar wrote:once again the elephant in the room is the high difference between our free's for and against. Last time I recall we questioned the umpires it cost us a game that also cost us a top 4 position (Whispers in the Sky - which according to the AFL didn't happen).
big difference between potting the umpires via the media and having a quiet chat with the department with perhaps a dvd of incidents they have questions aboutMr Magic wrote:Well if they do decide to go down that path I hope they've learned the lessons of history.Solar wrote:once again the elephant in the room is the high difference between our free's for and against. Maybe that's learning a history lesson?Solar wrote:big difference between potting the umpires via the media and having a quiet chat with the department with perhaps a dvd of incidents they have questions aboutMr Magic wrote:Well if they do decide to go down that path I hope they've learned the lessons of history.Solar wrote:once again the elephant in the room is the high difference between our free's for and against. I'm just working my way through the replay and let's put it like this.
In the third quarter with 11 minutes to go, St Kilda got a free ( I think to Lenny) and the frees according to Channel 7 were 14 to 7.
So for the next 40 or so minutes the Saints got just one free quick. The Dogs got another four.
Considering everyone is saying St Kilda dictated the play, although I dispute that, I'm not expecting the exact same number of frees as the Dogs. However all up the Dogs got an extra 10 free kicks which amounts to another player on the ground.
I rest my case m'lord.

I keep wondering when the umpiring department will learn that GT doesn't coach anymore....Mr Magic wrote:Maybe that's learning a history lesson?Solar wrote:big difference between potting the umpires via the media and having a quiet chat with the department with perhaps a dvd of incidents they have questions aboutMr Magic wrote:Well if they do decide to go down that path I hope they've learned the lessons of history.Solar wrote:once again the elephant in the room is the high difference between our free's for and against. Publicly flog them for previously following another side. I dont see the point of that.Mr Magic wrote:Didn't you ask what the AFL could do?plugger66 wrote:Sorry dont understand what that has to do with umpires who have followed AFL sides previously.Mr Magic wrote:Maybe what the Geisch has just done with McLaren - publicly 'flogged' him.
Publicly castigated adn dropped for this week (at least).
Seems that in this case, 'they're only humans' and 'they just make mistakes' doesn't cut it?
I was just offering a suggestion.
