When Max Rooke did his hamstring he went to Germany ? and had goats blood.
The AFL has since stopped any injecting of foreign substances into players blood stream.

No.
Then why are you?? :P
Learnt the best. What else have you up your sleeve to teach me?
Next is 'humour'!

It will take about 6 weeks... and a trip to Germany is not required.

Do I still get to drink goats blood?

i agree re 6 weeks - possible return date.

the things on nicks side is that his young, only ever had one hamstring injury which was a very minor one and keeps him self in great condition.
those factors should ensure such issues as scar tissue to be minimal which wont prolong his recovery.

At least we only play one of the other top teams (I'm counting the top 4 from last year, plus Hawthorn) in the next 6 weeks. Playing Dogs in round 6. Not easy games by any stretch, but not lots of the really big games either. Geelong game is round 13 - week after the break...so they would be hoping to get him back before the break, then the break then the big Geelong game. Obviously they will be trying to get him back asap, but they have to balance that with the risk of further injury by trying to bring him back too early.

Do you ever complain, or speak up about anything you have an issue with in life, Bigred and if so, does that make you a "bleating sook", or is OK when you do it, but not others?

Based on experience and knowledge or did Rooy ring you.
You'd assume the club would be pulling out all stops to ensure he has the very best treatment, wouldn't you? It'd be better for us if he underwent expensive treatment to ensure he wasn't sitting on the pine for 10 weeks IMO, even if it bought us a fortnight.
Given players only play a maximum of around 25 H&A and finals games a year, every game he misses costs the club $30,000 to 40,000 in pay.
But he is so high profile his absence from the ground will cost the club far more in marketing revenue.

He is a "don't look at the price of treatment, just do it" player.

That would be a really good outcome now but judging from his tone on MMM it may be more. Sometimes surgery is necessary even if some of the muscle tendon is still attached to the bone.

On the bright side the break will give his knee some much needed rest.

It's still an issue apparently, much moreso than we have been led to believe.

Herald Sun says 8 weeks. I don't know how to make a link maybe Saint Brat or someone else more computer savvy can put it up here. But I will take 8 weeks in the hope he comes good in time for the finals. Time to step up Kosi.

Just copy/paste the link into your post and it will become a proper link automatically :)

Given our fixture, imo we can get by without him almost all the way up to Geelong in Rnd 13 with the exception of the WB in rnd 6.

Freo, Port, WB, carlton, ess, wce, adelaide, rich, freo, geelong.

Im confident our defense has some of those forward lines well covered considering they have conceded an average of 56ppg so far. Im sure we can kick winning scores.

Don't rush him back.

No one yet knows how long Roo will be out..

Still has to see the specialist.....and most likely even then it will just be a guess with more refinement with further scans later on.

Dont worry all the club will give us is a:
Nick Riewoldt - TBA
or they may be kind and say
Nick Riewoldt - indefinite

Take your pick.

I don't understand why posters are saying that we should give him heaps of time off and get him right for the finals. I understand to a certain degree however he needs to be playing in our team when he is available...not given a few extra weeks to rest him for the finals...

He is paid to play. He needs to play as much as possible.

wasn't Fisher injured?

Absolutely. He will play the moment he is ready even if it is the week before the split round. Never understand lets just give them another week just in case.

If it happens again well...what can you do about it? The doctors and rehab staff are the ones' with degree's in the field and we are all simply onlookers.

The club has paid for top quality and we should expect a quality rehab program etc etc rah rah rah ticking all the boxes etc etc dotting i's and all that cliched jargon.

Agreed. He knew the cameras were going to be there. Surely the skinny jeans were not the best...being all tight around an already sore area. And the leather jacket and backwards cap. Seriously. Not a good look skipper.

Agree he will play as soon as he is ready...especially if we start losing a few. Getting back before the split round and then having that break will be good for him.

He is quality. I am going to buy one of those NY Yankees baseball caps when I am over there mid year. I have to keep up with the trends and Reiwoldt is the fashion.

Did you notice it even had a 12 embriodered on the front. I don't know who is giving him fashion advice, but he needs some more help in this area...Just as well he's such a great footballer.

On the other hand, I bumped in to Kosi on the way into the game last week....he was looking hot in his jeans and t shirt and was on his way out to his car to get his suit.
