WTF does this line mean?:

"I’m really confident that provided I want to do the work - which I’m pretty sure that I do - I’ve still got some good footy left in me.’’

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/n ... -jvmw.html

Collingwood must be delighted to read that for $500,000 p.a. Ball is "pretty sure" he wants to do the work.

He'd have to be sleeping with Buckley; it's the only thing that'll save him from being dropped to the Magoos when they realize he can't run and can't kick more than 30 meters.

Ball, a proud warrior who had been used to success in football and cricket from an early age, was suddenly reduced to second guessing himself in front of a coach he realised had lost faith in him.

It happened on the training track when a normal 30m pass would suddenly become the equivalent of a curling five footer to win the US Masters. And it carried on to the field.
The article is obviously a work of fiction. Anyone that knows anything about Bally knows he can't kick 30 metres.

ha ha ha

good one.

why stick up for a piece of s*** like Ball? why not back the coach!!
Yes very nice Batnoe. You are obviously a very smart person who is just having a hard time in life. Havent got one for a while. Just give me one quote where i have had a go at RL for getting rid of Ball. I did say, and still stick with it, that if Ball got to the pies then we are the losers in the deal because he got to go where he wanted and we got nothing for him. The funny thing in previous posts when Bally was a Saints player and nearly everyone was falling over themselves to say how good Bally was, I was saying he was overated and overpaid and was abused for it. I understand in that small brain of yours that if you dont abuse Bally now then you cant be A real saints fan so to prove I am i now think Ball is a piece of s***, has no morals and was useless in all his 8 years at the saints. Does that now make me a Saints fan. No it makes me a moron and a liar just like others who now say the same thing.

Shocking article in the Sun. More of the poor Luke rubbish. Poor Luke played so badly because he knew the coaching staff had lost faith in him...thats why he couldn't kick properly....seriously. Where do these people get their information from. It's all Ross' fault...so annoying.

The article in The Age is a lot more balanced.
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/w ... -jwzk.html

At least this one properly explains how the pick 30 does not reflect his true worth to other clubs because of the way Ball and his manager went about things - ie the salary demand, the not talking to anyone etc.

"But it was an artificial market that judged Ball on Thursday night. Ball was not judged the 30th best player in the draft. He was judged the 30th best player who was charging $500,000 a year for the next two years. The financial terms skewed the market assessment, for certainly interest would have been greater had he been cheaper. He would not have got to Collingwood were his terms more agreeable."

Also explains St Kilda's reluctance to trade him to a competitor, how this affected the possible Everitt trade - they didn't want to trade him to us for less than a very high pick for exactly the same reasons.

Intersting that there is reference in the quotes by Luke Ball to there being more to this story...which we all know. Will be interesting when it all comes out.

just listening to eddie from yesteday morning- DID luke have AFL permission to train with Collingwood?
was in the altitude room on Thursday Morning- Confirmed by Eddie,

why do some commentators still think the Saints 'LET HIM GO"

did they not fly their Recruiting and player contract manager to the USA to endeavour to keep him? at what point this year did we ' send him away"

I'm sorry if Luke's last months with the Saints were sad, I'm sorry he now feels in place he can' work hard" and the saints weren't able to offer that.

obviously some commentators will have more information than plain old supporters and will have Luke's side of the story-- we don't have that benefit, Luke told saints supporters Nothing- he's not obligated to BUT it certainly may make me feel better, his face visible saddened when asked about the Saints in the press conference- I'm saddened that he will feel only pain when he remembers his wonderful 8 years at the club :(

I do wish him well but truly hope he can find joy in the game again, but wish he could have worked it out to do so with St Kilda.

Good, if he doesn't have any more hard feelings toward St Kilda he wont screw them again.
