Just imagine how great this win will be when we beat the hawks and continue our winning streak. Not only that our list of outs would be walk up starts at EVERY other club!!!!

Not in terms of just this game. Those are some of the biggest names in our side.We all know how injuries have affected this teams overall success in the past. Just wish we knew more about what the injuries are, very worrying so close to finals.Moods wrote:Why??Griggsy wrote:Knew there was going to be some big changes but now I just feel sick.
I would love the saints to win every game they play. And they still have a bloody good chance with that team. But if we do happen to lose, what's the big deal? Our backline looks as strong as ever. Who will pick up Rioli? THat's the only problem I can see.
The Hawks backline looks brittle to say the least.
We can do this sainters!

If it was the GF next week, we'd field a full strength team for sure...

Great stuff Sainters
LYON and his team are on fire. Perfect timiing to give key players a rest and we will still win. Look for Armitage to come in for KING if it is wet weather.
I am really pleased with this team and will look forward to seeing STEVEN and ARMITAGE if he comes in.
Great stuff Sainters - this really adds to my confidence that 2009 could be our year!

I would suggest that the final team make up will depend a bit on the weather. The three rucks are insurance against either Michael Gardiner or Steven King aggravating their "conditions". On the other hand, although the forecast is now for mainly fine conditions for the game, if it turns out to be more wet, I would suspect that David Armitage will get a game.
Our backline is still strong and although the midfield is very much weakened, I feel we will still win.
Very bad luck for Matty Maguire I might say.

Lets hope we are not getting ahead of ourselves and playing around with a winning team. One loss can either make you more hungry or start doubting your ability and mess with your confidence ....Hope Ross knows best as he has done the right thing all year..makemytime wrote:im genuinely worried with the fact we are using 3 ruckmen

Guerra and Ellis are big outs for the Hawks both provide plenty of drive and precision.
Saints as selected on current form still a competitive though seriously depleted unit - the Hawks will be smelling blood and have a heap more to lose.
St Kilda FC and Tasmania there's something very weird going on between us that sooner or later we've got to get to the bottom of.

Graceful, elusive, strong overhead and no Easybeat!

Hope they are resting and not all injured.
We are still a chance to win, the Hawthorn side named is nothing like their premiership side. Their backline has only two of their premiership team in it.
The issue will be the midfield but if it is wet we still have some guys that can win the football, plus Gram and Ray as outside runners. Look at the match ups accross the sides we can still win.
Surely we will not play three ruckman, would have thought it was a perfect game for Armitage.
Most important thing is too have fit and firing players in the finals, but you should never give a sucker an even break and I would have prefered to finish Hawthorn's chances of making the finals and then rested in the last three games.

A champion team will always beat a team of champions.
Good outs for our last interstate game.
Rooey and Monty obviously no risk approach.
Hayes, Goddard and Baker have all had a tough season. Good that Hayes doesn't have to fly after a game as his back has caused issues in the park and good to give Goddard and Baker a week off to sort out any issues come finals. Reckon these 5 are absolutely cruscial in September. Baker has been up and down a bit in his return year but finals are physical and he's one of our toughest.
Feel for our south island supporters though not getting to see these 5 in action.
