I can confirm that Lance wanted to leave WA and really wanted to join a Victorian club. There was at least one other Victorian team that was very keen to recruit him, given how impressed they were with his maturity and self-drive. But the Saints got in first, and the rest is history.

Well that’s very reassuring as far as go home factor goes. Training wise he’s constantly being spoken highly of in the reports and with Butler injured… he may just have a foot in the door as an early season debut.

Any idea who the other club that was interested in him was?

Lance seems to be doing all the right things to put himself in a position to get a game in round one. With Butler likely out we need a specialist small forward. Seems like his running is pretty good for an 18 year old and he's very dynamic around goals. I'm excited to see what he can bring
