Norths 2nd round pick will be closer to 30, fisher & 30 does not equal Bruce & 10 unfortunately.SaintSimmo wrote:Dal to NM -> Delaney + Pick 25 to Saints

Effectively Pick 10, Delaney and Bruce for Dal and Fisher
Hope Pelchen can get something like this done

IMO would need a hell of a lot more than Fisher to get pick 10.

GWS in need of a ruckman. I reckon Hickey and Stanley could hold down the ruck duties and then we recruit a ruckman from one of the state leagues to be a backup.

I think it will look more like this
Dal to NM for Delaney + 25ish
Chips to GWS for Bruce + 35ish
37ish to Freo for Michie
Upgrade Curren for a later pick.
Leaves us with 3, 21, 25 & 35 + two rookie selections.

Kelly is 182cm, Hartung 177cm, Garlett 180cm. Can't we pick up a tall mid like Barlow or Mundy or Isaac Smith or Birchall? It feels like that's the way the game's going.sax wrote:3. Josh Kelly

Re: Official Trade Rumours thread (all in here please)
Just wish to remind people Pelchen / Watters said that it will take a very attractive offer to get Nick Dal Santo 1st Round.
Nick is now a contracted player to AFL lists for 2014 so contract has now been validated by both parties.
Therefore if North want him they have to find a deal that Stkfc want not the other way around folks.
So if Nth want to keep their 1st rounder for McDonald then they to trade someone of value such as Cunnington or a Harper
to either Stkfc or another club to get deal done.
Really glad Pelchen / Bains / Elshaug are in charge some of the deals proposed above would make club a basket case like Melbourne.

If we could get Hartung at 21 we would be geniuses- I think he should go in the top 10.

Let's trade everyone with more than 10 games -that way we can re-visit the 80's and get 4 wooden spoons in a row!SaintSimmo wrote:Fair point, McEvoy instead of Fisher?Buckets wrote:SaintSimmo wrote:Dal to NM -> Delaney + Pick 25 to Saints

In those days we had to suck it up, and rely on our decreasing Zones and inept administration. Now we'd get 4 no 1 picks in a row. You bewdy! But of course we'd be broke by then....

Hmmm... some people are suggesting that draft is pretty even after the first 5 picks and then fall off a cliff after #40. So perhaps we might aim to do some of the following...Animal Enclosure wrote:We won't take Garlett either unfortunately.

Trade Dal to North for a #27 + Delaney
Trade McEvoy to GWS for #20 + Bruce
Leaving us with picks 3, 20, 22, 27 and 42... one of which we could afford to risk on Garlett...
Hird... The unflushable one is now... just a turd...
Re: Official Trade Rumours thread (all in here please)
So our policy has changed since 2009?
Again on drafting
Just go for best player and person available at pick....
Never go a type, never go a player because you think the game is headed that way, never draft with a view on current team.
Sam Mitchell is short, Athletes that can't get a kick fail...
Golden rules

But then we'd have to use several of those picks trying to replace our first ruck and our classiest mid.Richter wrote:Hmmm... some people are suggesting that draft is pretty even after the first 5 picks and then fall off a cliff after #40. Why don't we trade whoever actually wants to go, and keep the heart of the club together?

Except our policy hasn't really changed, we seem to still want to shy away from players with drug issues.
Lance or James??

If he doesn't sign and becomes a delisted free agent then everyone gets a crack at him. I'd be worried that Collingwood or Hawthorn or whoever approaches him at that point and sways him with promises of success and more money. As a small club, if we want to get high-rated players then we need to pay overs.MC Gusto wrote:Why do we need to trade for Bruce? Re: Official Trade Rumours thread (all in here please)
So, last month it was Dal (but now maybe not), last week it was Chips (again now, maybe not), yesterday it was Roo (but now definitely not), this morning it is Joey (according to Jon Pierik on the back page of this morning's Age).
I'm starting to feel like we're caught in some perverse member/media management strategy. They've worn us down so the traditionalists amongst us will be grateful if they only trade Joey.
I think it's working, because although I am opposed to trading Dal, for some reason losing Joey seems more palatable?
I really can't wait for the (start and) end of the trade period. The pre-trade rumour rubbish is wearing me down ....

Re: Official Trade Rumours thread (all in here please)
Reported that a number of clubs are heavily interested in him. With his preferred destination being us it leaves us in a good position to package Bruce in a multiple player/draft pick trade or an outright trade. Second or third round pick should get it done. Can't leave it for someone else to snap him up from under usbergholt wrote:If he doesn't sign and becomes a delisted free agent then everyone gets a crack at him. I'm not so sure about that, I think he would have to enter the Pre-Season Draft.bergholt wrote:If he doesn't sign and becomes a delisted free agent then everyone gets a crack at him. Spot on, we need to keep away from Billings and Kelly. These small forward types mids are not the answer. They just aren't big enough for such an early pick.bergholt wrote:Kelly is 182cm, Hartung 177cm, Garlett 180cm. Can't we pick up a tall mid like Barlow or Mundy or Isaac Smith or Birchall?
