Can do a job at either end of the ground as he showed in his days at the Bombers and is a good first ruck if Marshall goes down.
He won't come. He would surely be a no.1 ruck; won't come to play second fiddle.
My point on Ryder is with his ability to play other roles rather than just in the ruck he wouldn't be second fiddle. He and Roma could both play together and share the ruck duties for a couple of years.

Ruck: Goldstein (costs just salary cap as a free agent) > Marshall (currently)
CHF: Marshall > Bruce (and younger)
FF: M. King
Membery only 25 and would compliment Marshall as the high half forward

Key backs:
Brown (one more year but only on gorilla forwards) / Carlisle on the tall less physical forwards
Battle starring at CHB - can also swing forward
Wilke on high half forwards (roberton still a chance to return)

Joyce / Austin deveoping to replace Brown
Clavarino / possible recruit B. King to replace Carlisle

Is Bruce expendable? Trade value? Versus keep value?
I agree with this. Bruce isn't going to gain in value, as much as it would hurt, might be the best "business" decision.
Even more so if we recruit B.King, would he definitely go to the back line? Has been doing alright as a young forward for GC.

Zac Smith would be okay
I would look at Tom Nicholls from the Gold Coast
27 yrs old, 203cm hasn’t played since 2016 in a team that has been terrible with player development, fitness etc.

Would come dirt cheap
They have form with Jarryd Lyons so Think you're onto something here.

Would love to get Goldie. Wouldn't mind Smith and if these options fail get someone that won't break the bank like Nicholls.

If both Longer and Pierce go then we need a backup number one ruck and a player who can play second ruck and another position.

Ryder would be ideal. Nicholls, Stanley, Smith and Vardy would be the cheaper options I would target. Nicholls and Smith are the first ruck backups while Stanley and Vardy could both play a mix of forward and ruck.

And if the Tigers don't play Chol in the finals, maybe he's gettable

If Marshall is moved from the Ruck, to accomodate an old Ruckman, that’ll be it for me!

It will prove we are incompetent with list management, and if that’s the case we will always be sh*t.

I sort of hope we don’t go overboard about a ruck this year

We do not need a No 1 Ruck. We need a back up No 1 Ruck.

Just either find a State Leauge level ruck who will be grateful to play at Sandy with the occasional seniors game hoping that he can impress.

Ora young, but cheap ruck option to be developed and fill in for Marshall if injured.

Remember that Marshall was a rookie.
Wasn't pierce a Rookie? He has been on the list for at least 5 years. All in the hope that rucjs take longer to improve m.
