Huge talent, if he had gone to Hawthorn or Sydney and been developed he'd be elite by now.
Absolutely worth a chance as he is inconsistent but A grade when on song.
Not dissimilar player to Billings, imagine two of them roaming 1/2 forward.

They'd want a late first round high second round at a guess.

We've used second rounders for Steele and Freeman.. second rounder for Matera could be a steal.

Hypothetically... do they have any mids out of contract that we could poach with Matera with our first rounders?

Agree a second rounder a steal. Suns gave up Bennell for #15 & #35 and gave Freo #22 in return.
Bennell has issues, Matera has had off field problems as well, similar talents.
Steele and Freeman were 4 years younger. Thought we paid overs for Freeman but if he works out he is a bargain.
Jack Martin is a gun, but not the midfield jet we need.

On the other side of the fence, I did find this comment from a Roo's supporter (in 'Dream Trades' on afl.com.au) particularly hilarious this morning:

"Todd Goldstein and Shaun Atley to St. Kilda in exchange for Jack Billings"

Guess you have to dream.

I did make mention of wanting Atley but never for Billings and a down grade on Longer in Goldstein. Haha what a joke of a trade

You almost got it right, Goldstein, Atley & their first round pick this year and next year for Billings.
And they pay 75% of both players salary.

Josh Kelly (Hawthorns pick, next year first rounder and some late rounders for extra points)
Alir Alir (for Hickey who by the way I rate and love but must give to get)
Gary Ablett (swap for 1 or 2 serviceable older players 25+ With the trade evened up with late picks)
Keep pick 8 or 9 (or at best 10)

Top 4

The Gary Ablett question is an interesting one. Is he like Danger and only interested in returning to one club? Personally, I'd love to get Ablett. He's got at least two more years in him, which might drag us over the line. Cost is the key of course. That, and his alleged Prima Donna like behaviour at the Suns.

Hate to remind you we sold our 2017 2nd rounder.

Any potential interest in Jake Stringer if he gets traded?

Jasper Pittard is about to be re-signed with the Power for 3 years.
Injectors were reportedly interested in him.
I know not much about him, but he was a Restricted FA

(original post mentioned Crows, because I don't give a fat rat's clacker about either of those 2 clubs.

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

He has massive ties to The Gateway Church in Langwarrin - so Moorabbin would be a better match than Sleepy Hollow

Who knows - I would love to have him in RW&B even for a couple of years - to 'fulfil his destiny' [weren't we getting senior before some change of boundaries/rules?]

Adding to my suggestion of Atley from North Melbourne the running data in the Herald sun today shows he had the fastest speed of any player this year. From memory 35.3 k/ph.

I've stated in another thread I want Atley from North Melbourne. He has pace to burn and is a great user by foot. I'm sure he would be the most experienced player from his draft in a games played sence.
Atley is possibly the worst 'user by foot' in the whole competition.

Only recruit if we want a presence in the GF Day Sprint.
Atley has the highest kick rating at north Melbourne. Plus 5. Something. So clearly not the worst user by foot in the comp

I quite like the idea of trading for Luke Breust. Would be a fantastic pick up. Can't see the Hawks being keen to trade him, however.

Said this a while back. Breust would be a great pickup. Exactly what we need. A genuine small forward that could give 40-50 goals. Good skills and expierence included.

Surely the Hawks would take Pick 61. :D

Pick up delisted free agent Keegan Brooksby from GC?
Key position utility and would cost barely a packet of chips, could even rookie list him
