Tell 'em they're joking.
Aaagh. The Essendon family connection has sparkled!
We would have to be crazy to trade one of our best young midfielders for a fringe player who may be good.
I would rather keep Seb if that's what it takes.
I would love Laverde to be playing for the Saints in 2017 but at the risk of going out on a very shaky limb, I am going to boldly say it ain't going to happen.
If his Manager told St Kilda and Essendon his client wants a trade then why hasn't it been announced publicly? These things are not kept as a secret.
He wants out and he says so publicly. That is the normal course of events. Instead we have silence.
IMO Laverde doesn't want out. He wants to stay with the Bombers and is using our offer to leverage a better deal with Essendon.
The longer this drags on, the more likely it is that he will stay with that dopey club.
I hope I am completely wrong because he is a good fit for us.

In what way is he a good fit for us? He is only a good fit if he is GOOD.
We have to overcome the hurdle that is Dudoro. No doubt he'll want the world and will make it as difficult as possible. In the end, if our offer is good enough, we hold the whip hand. It's us or the preseason draft with a big price on his head. The shitstains get what we give them, or nothing at all. Unlike with Carlisle, we are not desperate this time. Carlisle was a one off. There are a number of others like Jayden we could get. I do think he could become something special. The shitstains will be filthy about this. Good.Think Luke Ball. In Ameet and the trout we trust. Wouldn't it be good to see Carlisle and Laverde rip it up against that shitstain of a former club of theirs next year?
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

I don't mean to sound rude but you should distinguish between opinion and fact because as with the other thread you started, you make it sound like you have some inside knowledge.
According to you we're going to get zip but this is baseless.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

ESSENDON has warded off St Kilda's interest in Jayden Laverde, who is set to sign a new two-year deal with the Bombers.
The club has been in protracted contract talks over a new deal for Laverde for months, but AFL.com.au understands rivals were informed this week that the 20-year-old will be staying at Essendon.
The contract is believed to tie him to the Bombers until the end of 2018.
St Kilda, who rated Laverde highly in his draft year in 2014, had shown strong interest in the exciting and quick half-forward.
It is an important signing for the Bombers, who couldn't have afforded to lose one of their brightest young talents as they look to rebound from their wooden spoon season.
Wouldn't write it off yet.. Is says set to sign , I'll wait till the ink drys on the contract. Could be Dildo playing games again. But if he does stay at least we've made the Bummers up their offer, even that's got to feel good.
And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"
And our former president said " Football is like golf"

Fair enough SS, let's wait and see how it pans out!!!!!

No reflection on Jaxons at all. Shows how fluid this time of year is. Win some lose some. The Bombers were forced to up their offer.
All good for us, no downside at all... we move on wards and upwards. Please keep us in the loop Jaxons.
I am still hurting from 71;
my gut churns thinking of 97;
2009 was agony,
2010a was a pleasure to watch only to be devastated by 2010 b.
It hurts barracking for the Saints
I'll still back Jaxons.... It seems strange that Essendope have not been blasting out over their web site about re - signing Laverede.... They have on every, and I mean every, opportunity (with AFL backing) shouted out how every player wants to play for them...
I suspect it's still all in the balance, and still in our favour. I don't believe they would sit around silent when it us in their Intrest to shout out aloud he wants to play and still bleeds for them

It's a strange one mate.
For their recent signings of Francis & that other young kid they had the players do videos & had their own articles on their site. With Laverde there's been nothing accept articles on the AFL site saying he is "set to sign". In Brett Andersons latest podcast he said it's 50/50 whether Laverde re-signs or joins St Kilda. But is that an old podcast?
I wouldn't put it past Dodoro & his slimey cronies to leak false info to the media to put pressure on the kid. Who bloody knows
