Definitely came as a free agent after Sydney delisted him.

If we want to have a pre season draft pick we would have to delist someone now.

should take Josh Glen as a rookie, for mine...

seems the talent was always there, but he has written his own career path, seems to have matured and is keen on an afl career

would mean we add a midfielder to this years draft mix...

and his unusual pathway means he may be a bargain... but as a rookie there is little lost if he is not up to it

I like Oleg Markov, mainly because of his pace. Gets the ball and takes off.

"Medium forward/midfielder with elite athletic ability. Possesses excellent vertical jump and marks strongly over opponents. Broke his collarbone twice this year. Finished equal-second in 20m sprint (2.87 sec) and equal-sixth in repeat sprint (24.14 sec) at NAB AFL Draft Combine. Son of Olympic and world champion pole-vaulter Dmitri Markov."

Would not be unhappy with Bampton, Capiron or Ramsey with our first pick. Sadly the two we don't pick won't be around for our 2nd which opens the door for Saad and the lads training with us.

I do feel loyalty for Saad but Lonie's selection adds another ? to him, besides his comeback from a year out, his age & how he responds mentally to his ban. Weigh all that up and I'd probably be looking more at Petrenko who I believe will be out to impress and embarrass Adelaide.

He's the guy I want. He's had a horror run with injuries over the past two years.

No to Bampton. He has state league player written all over him. Very ordinary disposal and moves like a snail. Just not suited to AFL footy. He would get found out on the spread and be a turnover king. The only thing Bampton has got going for him is that he's a big unit and can win the ball.

Capiron is another I would consider. Terrific size and could turn into a big mid. Injuries cut him down this year and prior to that he was considered a lock to be drafted. Very unlucky.

Yes FA, as that is how he can train with us already. If you are not on a club's list , you cannot train with them.

The Swans did the right thing by Membrey and the Saints by allowing him to become a FA. The Dogs by contrast our drawing things out with Tutt and the Blues.

What do the SANFL watchers think of Matthew Panos. Shifter had him in his top 20 in his draft year and featured in the top 30 of many phantom drafts but slid all the way to the rookie draft to the Dogs. Delisted after 3 years and went back to Norwood where he became a big bodied mid (previously a FF)In the best 10x from 14 games. 191cm and 90kgs. Is now 23yo so probably doesn't fit in with our list rebuild but he is a friend of a friend and I'm just curious if anyone thinks he's any chance for a second shot?

Not sure but I think 23 yr old can still be part of the rebuild

A good one yes but I think if we are going to take speculative picks it may as well be a younger player. I'm not huge on any of the delisted boys training with us.

We were supposed to take two mid sized players at 21 & 22.
Hugh was just too good a gift to be overlooked by us.
That means we got one more tall than we expected.

The problem with taking a rookie midfielder to replace pick No 21 is that rookie midfielders virtually never make it to elite level (the present Brownlow medalist is the exception).
They make it to GOP at best.
But if we want to win a premiership we need elite midfielders.
The best bets among rookies are small forwards and ruckmen.
Maybe Saad but do we need another ruck prospect.

As it stands we have all 4 type A rookie places vacant.
If we fill them all now then we only have Schneider's place vacant in 2015 (unless we promote someone).
It may be best to leave one rookie type A place vacant for a year.
Tom Rockliff was overlooked in the main draft and is elite.

Pick me, Pick me, Pick me

I will soon be 63 years old.
I am not much smaller than the tiniest player in the AFL.
I am solidly built ...... OK so its all fat.
I like to run fast, haven't done so for years though, knees destroyed by arthritis but they do let me sort of ski downhill.
So I would make a great downhill player.

I can't kick a football (the knees again) but hey I can handball on one side.
I can take a chest mark but can't jump to get off the ground to take a screamer (the knees again).

I have type 2 diabetes, that has to be better than Paddy McCartin.
I only need to take metformin tablets, no insulin injections like Paddy.

My blood pressure and cholesterol are well controlled by tablets and I am having my osteoporosis attended to and taking vitamin D tablets.

I will try my hardest to abuse young women in the manner usual to an AFL footballer, but the methotrexate may mean their will be no father-son draft picks produced.
You know you want to take a risk on me.

Pick me, Pick me, Pick me

Panos is a very good prospect-a Barlow type. Given our needs I would certainly take him ahead of the other Crow players currently training with us. He was a real ball magnet this year with good disposal on both sides. Will be surprised if someone doesn't take a punt on him.

Marcov sounds enticing. I'm really craving for pace.

Would still be happy to recycle some players, particularly Saad.
Would we be committed to 'mature age' rookies for two years, like the young ones?
A one year trial would be a better idea, leaving room for fresh additions in 2015.

I've got you covered, Ace. My meds have me way out in front. Pick me! I'm a much better bet. I can still get off the ground and might just father one more decent player!
