So many other ways he could word that
Hopefully that is out of context, the "low light" being the way he left st Kilda surely?
At least he has already broached the subject that his sons would play for us, I'm sure EVERYONE will be able to forgive Luke if he has a few gun sons.

he did the best for himself
most people wouldve done the same
i myself wouldve stayed as im one of those people that would only play for one club (if the club wanted me of course)
i still say to this day that if he played more time in the 09 grannie we wouldve got up
but lets not open that old chestnut again

I agree with this post except for the last two sentences.
As it is an unknowable it can never be proven correct or not.
I think that if he played more in the second half, Geelong would have won by 5+ goals and the game would have been over by three quarter time.
Cant prove it correct or not, but that's what I think.

Not sure they are wrapped either but i dont think they take things like that personally like some supporters do. I think he went to a few of our players weddings after he left.

in the article he states that even had we won he was going
It's the deception and actually going against league rules that bugs me.

That'll probably stand him in good stead as a Liberal MP but it doesn't make him a particularly nice guy.
i think he;s a great guy....have you ever met him.????..i have....
Only a couple of times, not for years. He had a particular personality type that I tend not to like. The old quote "he's very pleased with how he turned out" sprang to mind back then. Maybe injuries and time have mellowed him; I hope so.

Don't think that winning the flag would have lessened Lyon's slight on Ball in that Gf and the weeks leading up to it.
We got Hamill because Elliot treated him like crap and we lost Ball because Lyon did the same to him.
Pretty hard to blame the player in either case!

Sack Lyon for what? Well with in his right to tell a player he needs to improve.

Maybe Lyon needed to look in the mirror then.
Lyon 3 GF's without Ball Nil wins
Ball 2 GF's with a proper coach for 1 win

Would be interested to hear him say
when he did the deal. I'm betting he would avoid answering that question.

Interesting that he's 30 and retiring, Maguire used him well.
Surprised that he's not looking for another club

Was Maister sacked. Ball retired. Why do people care anyway?
