I noticed Brett Eddy kicked a bag of 7 in the sanfl on the weekend.
well worth a look with a late pick or rookie spot for us.

Rated by his coach, Brad Gotch, but I worry about the standard of the footy especailly key forwards.

picking up guys from the lower levels isnt a new concept in fact we still have a number on the list (Dunnel, Fisher, Jones, Lee, Milera, Shenton, Saad), but the ones that succeed almost always around the 20-22 age range and for whatever reason were overlooked due to some shortcomings in their draft year. It seems very few have gone into a bottom 8 team and really shone out. However when surrounded by good players and with a well defined role to play they can succeed. Perfect example is Clint Jones - recruited from the WAFL and when he had a role to play (tagger) in a very good team (2009 & 2010) he looked good. Now, devoid of his specialist role and and surrounded by players who cant easily compensate for his shortcomings , he looks a very average player .

Assuming there is someone out there worth looking at, it may be worth a punt perhaps on a 20-21 year old with a late pick or rookie, but I wouldn't be giving up a pick 12 or 13 and trying to do some fancy swap of picks deal ........

Plenty from lower leagues make it in the big league. Plenty.

Completely agree Gora.

Eddy has kicked 50 in 12 games and leads the sanfl goal kicking. In comparison, John Butcher from port has kicked 28 in 11 games..

23yo ATM. Turns 24 late in the season. I'd recruit him as a back up forward if we delist Maister who is 29 at the start of next season. Our key position fwd stocks are very light on and we can't expect someone like patty McCartin to fire from game 1 if we recruit him in the draft..
