Re: Pathetic dalsanto
I agree we should drop him and bring in a kid. If that kid doesn't get at least 20 possessions at 80 % efficiency like Dal drop him to and try another. Rinse and repeat.
While his performances may not be as good as a couple of years ago he is still better than any of the young guys running around including Wright.

Re: Pathetic dalsanto
This is what I've always argued and especially with a particular poster. The AFL official player rankings/stats that you see presented in the media are a very basic and simple and interpretation and only a small picture of what really goes on. In particular the contested possession stat is very misleading.mightysainters wrote:That doesn't say much IMO, because if you think NDS has been close to Monty and Roo you haven't been watchingfelix wrote:Jack Steven is our number one player in the afl official player rankings NDS is number 2 .

Roo, Montagna, Steven, Roberton, Armitage, CJ, Geary in that order... All better than Dal this year... Easily
Disappointed in Dal
I consider him a champ

Bigmart what do you know about how the stats are managed. Do you think think that the stats we read in the media are an accurate measurement of a players performance at AFL level?BigMart wrote:Roo, Montagna, Steven, Roberton, Armitage, CJ, Geary in that order... Think pathetic is harsh, however I do believe that if Dal is interested in a move we should seriously consider looking for a trade at seasons end, would have great currency for a contender looking to add class and polish!
Maybe this year?

Think Nicky is suffering from the year were having ...
Pathetic is a bit harsh...IMO
Certainly his form is down, but he's not on his own there
but wouldn't want him to go...

Really? Didn't know you could do that!
Dals my fave player, but I'm thinking something to last the ages might be the way to go.
Thanks for the info.

The stats are ok.... But only when comparing similar player types
Crowley cannot be compared to Dal...... Dal statistically better, Crowley S***loads better

Re: Pathetic dalsanto
It's almost impossible to psychoanalyse our players from the distance - but what the hell, if everyone else can try then why not me.
Nick DS seems in the same space as BJ was - both sometime in 2012. That is, it's over, so what's next. I'm sure many other players from the 2010 GF side have gone through the same discussion in their minds. With the possible exception of the other Nick, Stephen Milne, Lenny, Kosi, and a few others - the rest seem to have decided, yes, it's over - so I'll relax my intensity a bit. And, of course, it has. If they remain with the Saints, they know they will never play in a premiership side. At the moment, it looks like their sons won't either. So, NDS is a bit "weak" at present, notwithstanding the lack of skills of his teammates which is way down on what it was from 2004-2010. So, why kill yourself in a lost cause. The answer comes from within. This is my shot at playing AFL - make every game count.

Re: Pathetic dalsanto
truly hope dal santo can rise from the mental quagmire he is in right now.
hope....
why do the likes of lenny hayes and nick riewoldt never ever yield or give up
why does dal santo give up? the guy has more talent than any stkilda player i have ever seen. wouldnt it be great if, in his last few years he woke up and siezed the f****** day?
sigh....

Re: Pathetic dalsanto
I'm not an astute observer of the game but I thought Dal was OK on Saturday.
Was it specific incidents or just the vibe of the thing?
I would like to see a lot of evidence before labeling a player like Dal pathetic.
