My 2 bobs worth. Give it to McEvoy when Roo steps aside.
I was a huge fan of that system.
If GT didn't implement it, we'd have no idea that Hamill, Ball, Hayes and Rooey could make really good leaders. And they continued to be great leaders even when they weren't captain.
Most likely that Harvey would have retained the captaincy until he retired in 2008.

If we'd have retained that system, what might it have done for Dal Santo, Montagna and BJ?

Give McEvoy, Geary, Steven, etc a crack over the next few years and see where it takes us.

Hey K, you can ditch your sig pic now… he's certainly a core player :D

On the captain… Unfortunately I don't think we don't have the right bloke at the moment…

Gears could do it… Mac is struggling for form… Armo would be good if he could get consistency in his own game… Joey would be pretty good - (but I would expect no support on that on here)

Really hoping Newnes or Siposs are ready in a couple of years…

McEvoy can not seriously be considered can he?
What happens if Hickey gets on a role, we get a fullback and Stanley goes back to playing the FF/ruck position and McEvoy finds himself without a position.
We can't have the captain running around in the twos. Wow.

What happens if he plays like he has for most of the year?

It's my opinion that if Hickey and Stanley keep developing, both will be better rucks then McEvoy

I think our lack of options means rewoildt has it until he pulls the pin in 2-3

Can't give it to Ben, he's a ruckman who can't ruck to save himself. Handy around the ground, but a liability in the centre.

Geary, has a go, but lets be honest, he's only a ever going to be a form slump away from the 2's. same with armitage.

If roo go's another 2 years after this maybe newnes will be ready by then

I must have no idea about footy because I like Stanley down back.
I see him as an AA defender in 2 or 3 years.

Love Geary but not sure hes quite skipper material.

Maybe Seb Ross is next in line.

Roo might as well stay on as Skipper next year. NDS and Gwilt can help out until Seb is ready.

I dont get to see as much footy lately(no more foxtel+ work) so I cant see/judge our next captain.
Leigh Matthews said Goddard wasn't captain material,so who is?
From memory Robert Harvey had his worst 2 seasons with injury as captain of a not too good team
(and probably not elite medical support).
