But why? Surely you have only seen him play a couple of times.
gut feel! like the way he moves!
looks a player! seems to have some composure and seems to make ok decisions.
thats all u can ask from a 19 yo.
have you ever seen him play?

Why is Raph Clarke an unrestricted? He only debuted in 2004, the year after Grammy who is restricted.

depends on the pay scale- - ie player not in the top...% of player payments at a club.

this article has some of the info on caps and player payments
http://www.couriermail.com.au/sport/afl ... 6422963489
The AFL requires all clubs to pay 95 per cent of the salary cap and ASA combined. And it says its equalisation strategy helps fund the salary cap for Victorian clubs struggling to make ends meet.

Clubs without special assistance can spend up to $9.4 million on their players this season, which includes the ASAs, excluding other allowances.

That figure will rise to $11.2 million by 2016.

Player payments for the next five years were agreed late last year under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between the league and AFLPA.

would not surprise me one little bit. id say there is a HUGE chance this will happen.
  • lyon loves ledger
ledger not getting a run at the saints at all
    home factor
much much easier for ledger to train at freo and do is llb at uwa

Curious isn't it, ledger was all the rave after the NAB cup, yet there has been liitle love since, & appearing more & more like he is not going to get a go.
There has been a fair bit of supposition about "kicking the coaches cat" etc, but no definitive answers. Anyone know?

Wouldnt surprise if this is true and I flagged this months back as a worry of mine......Lyon knows who goes ok on our list....If I were him and freo had coin id pick the eyes out of St Kilda for ready made prospects like Leger...its an easy target.

Shame cause I reckon he'll be a decent player who wins his own ball and lets face it hes a mid and weve spent time developing him .....or have we?

Anyway, couldnt understand.... at one stage hes good enough to be selected in the team Rd 1? plus NAB Cups etc.....then all of a sudden hes got ego problems, small tank, disposal issues just about everything bar the clap.......odd.

Im am bad at typing but worse in the dark. Never had a red in my life and you obviously dont have children. Anyway someone heard on here he was going. That has huge merit. I have heard he is or isnt going but I say he isnt going so one cancels out the other. Both have 100% no basis.

How do you know those who have heard he is going has 100% no basis?
All we know for certain is your ridiculous post he isn't going has zero basis cause you told - so why post it?
Again, it's a footy forum.... We all know much on here is just scuttlebutt but that's what you get on the Internet so why the need to inform us of this every post?

Odd hobby.....

But has anyone actually "heard" he's leaving?

Or is it simply a case of "WA boy"+"not getting a game"+"loved by Lyon"="going to Freo"

That may well happen. But does anyone really know it's going to happen? That's the question.

That was my point. It is absoulote crap just like people wanting Gram out of the side every week. Or one guy who has wanted Milne out for the last 5 years. Eventually they will be proved right but in the mean time they are wrong. Ledger may or may not go but 2 and 2 could equal 50 in this case. By the way if RL loved Ledger that much wouldnt he have played more than 2 games last year.

why cant Lyon love Leger but recognise he wasnt ready for more than 2 games last year? - what a dumb assertion given Legers played stuff all this year under Watters....

secondly, again, how do you know its cr@p? - the comment was mentioned on BF as someone suggesting theyd been told this?.....probably is cr@p but unlike yours which is entirely made up -how would you know?? perhaps more concerning is .......even if its cr@p.....why feel the need to jump in on an internet fan forum (where most of its cr@p) and tell us?

With only 4 matches to go, have any of these contracts been finished off in the previous 4 weeks?

I do recall Lyon liking the kid though.

Drove him to the specialists last year didn't he, I remember we were all remarking on how kind that was.

We don't want another Tommy Walsh - close, but never given a game or two! Tom Ledger has been on the emergency list a few times now. Perhaps this week's Melbourne game may be a good opportunity to see how he goes in the senior team?? His inclusion certainly wouldn't cost us the game.
