Oh der, I totally forgot.
Does this likely mean that Armo hasn't come up today at training?
Ledger is probably in for him?

Given the who-ha over Ray being named in the squad (headlines about Ray being in the squad of 25) one would suggest he is in too...SainterK wrote:Thats the thing Ralphy, they are actually changing the squad and withdrawing Fish now.
Still could be more changes 90 minutes prior to the match.
Knowing how sneaky Watters is, you'd have to think Ledger is in, else why the intrigue?

IMO
Out: Armitage & Fisher
In: Ledger & Ray
Ray in a reshuffled back line (kind of like shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic)
Wilkes must have really pissed Watters off with is "attitude".

Nah. He can get the ball, kick both feet and has pace - no hope. There must be some turn over merchant we can pick before him.SainterK wrote:...Ledger is probably in for him?

Once again we play mind games. It's getting embarrassing. Fisher picked. Who did they think they were fooling. Every week the same selection bull$hit. Pick the side that is going to play, and leave the comady to the 3 stooges.
Hope Ledger gets his chance. It's overdue. Probably wont.

Bit difficult when you're picking the side 4 days out from the game. The Fisher selection is only a joke if he was never a chance to play.8856brother wrote:Once again we play mind games. If he was close he should be right to go next week so I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

Think Armo will struggle to come up , may be a chance with the long break but doubt it. Hope I am wrong Armo is starting to look the goods......SainterK wrote:Oh der, I totally forgot.

Having not watched heaps of him I think it is because he is somewhat of a turn over merchant but possibly because of age that he isn't playing. Or could just be that too many mids at this stage.
Re: Round 7 Team
Hawthorn smashed us with clearances out of the centre last week to give them first use of the ball - and Hawthorn's rucks aren't top class
I luv blake for his effort & endeavour but it is unfair to ask him to go into the first ruck position.
I am really concerned as you need a top ruckman to win - with McEvoy out, who is our number 2 genuine ruckman - not part-timers like blake, kosi & stanley (do we have one).
You can't win a game if you aren't winning it out of then centre bounces.

Re: Round 7 Team
I like that this jiggery-pokery with selection is playing havoc with people's Supercoach teams or whatever they are. That rubbish has got nothing to do with watching football, nothing to do with sport at all and a little piece of my sport-loving self dies when I read people talking about that stuff. We didn't have any of that a few years ago and everyone loved the footy just as much, now people go on like they can't enjoy footy without it. Makes me sick.
(by the way, I'm not some old fart who misses the old days generally, I think the modern game is generally ok)

Re: Round 7 Team
It'll be even more interesting to see how many games we can win. Will we reach double figures..Seems nigh on impossible
but you never know. I'm looking in my crystal ball and see 5 years of going nowhere and SW or his successor trying to turn it around.

How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?

Re: Round 7 Team
I'm not a fan of the continual juvenile games being played with the naming of our sides. A bit like Craig McDermott's instructions to our pace bowlers re the short delivery - it's only a weapon if it's used sparingly so that it's usage is a surprise. (I won't be surprised if we learn that Armo' was never in.)Austinnn wrote:I like that this jiggery-pokery with selection is playing havoc with people's Supercoach teams or whatever they are. However, one upside is if it annoys the gamblers, and the Dreamonteam and Stuporcoach pundits. I'm with you Austinnn... What a yawn... (Mods', where's the 'sleep' icon?)
Except for the scumpires and their silly new colour schemes. Yellow, red, purple, puke maggot just doesn't work. In footy, the only colour for a maggot, is a 'white maggot'. You know I'm right.Austinnn also wrote:(by the way, I'm not some old fart who misses the old days generally, I think the modern game is generally ok)
I learnt from reading another post that 'this' is the lingo of the under 30's (or whatever generation-term they are designated?)... I also hadn't heard the term 'jiggery pokery'... so not sure what generation that makes me fit with? I just know that I'm too immature and too in denial to fit with what should be my one.Austinnn then wrote:I realize now that I can't claim that I'm not an old fart and use the expression 'jiggery-pokery'.

It was a furphy having Fisher in the team to start with, I bet Watters threw Ratten off with that little ruse....stkildathunda wrote:He withdrew from side yesterday!! Ledger came into 25SaintPav wrote:They just said on SEN that Fisher is out but I don't know if they know any more than us?

Re: Round 7 Team
....Jarryn Geary comes into the 18, replacing Sam Fisher who failed in his bid retain his spot in the side after injuring his hamstring in last week's match with Hawthorn.
The Saints have named Arryn Siposs, Ahmed Saad, Farren Ray and Beau Wilkes on the interchange, with Dean Polo, Jamie Cripps and Tom Ledger named as the three emergencies.

Edit Cripps & Ledger played for Sandringham on Sunday
