Kicked a couple of goals and was considered in the best. Milera probably did the best of the two.Sobraz wrote:How'd Saad go?

Re: RD 1 Sandy vs Box Hill- Sun 25th- Scores
From today's game I would say 2 of Milera, Saad and Armitage are ikely to play round 1
Not sure about Wilkes, Simpkin, Schnieds, but im sure at least 1, maybe 2 of them will play round 1.
I don't like Ray's chances though, didn't do a hell of a lot today.

Re: RD 1 Sandy vs Box Hill- Sun 25th- Scores
No one has talked up Cockie he is a sandy boy but I kept hearing good things about him, was at WCE off their rookie list and they say he is going to be very good for the zebras from all reports, sounds like he went ok? Did Shenton play? Was keen to hear how Staley is going was anyone at the game?
Re: RD 1 Sandy vs Box Hill- Sun 25th- Scores
Simpkin was definately in the best for mine. Saved a few goals. His desperation to deny Roughhead on the goal line was brilliant. Red hot chance for a spot in Saints team next week.
Milera Very good! Looked to be walking OK after the siren.
Wilkes looks like a very good forward. Didn't impress me much this year when I saw him back. Good o/head and uses body well in contest.
Great Win.

Early days I know but it looks like we may finally have found some real talent.
At the very least it looks like we may have some genuine pressure on for the senior spots.
Very pleasing

He did an EPL mid air over the head freshly shot at goal that just missed. Amazing talent, maybe not quite AFL ready but very close.Sobraz wrote:How'd Saad go?
Wilkes was good but spilt quite a few gettable marks up forward and looks a little slow - but many players were knackered in the last term due to lower rotations.
I saw Armo at the 3/4 time huddle and he was carrying a slight nIggle on the upper left leg, not serious though.

I was in a freakin traffic jam because they closed off Frankston from Melbourne so I couldn't get home from the beach. And after seeing home of the Saints on every poster and banner I turned on the radio to hear the zebs had been on the radio the whole time. So I didn't get to hear anything but a wrap up. Did Shenton play and was he any good?

i'm a bit worried. compare our kids to the GWS kids. i have a nasty feeling that they they arent as good as the GWS kids.

Re: RD 1 Sandy vs Box Hill- Sun 25th- Scores
GWS got 15 top 20 picks or something. Plus about 5 of best 17 year olds the year before. Pick 25 was our highest pick, then few in late 30's. To compare them to GWS would be ridiculous imo.defacto wrote:i'm a bit worried. compare our kids to the GWS kids. i have a nasty feeling that they they arent as good as the GWS kids.
Re: RD 1 Sandy vs Box Hill- Sun 25th- Scores
i reckon there's only two spare spots, but i take your point about who was good. from the sound of things it would be simpkin and armo, though if blake was rested in the last quarter then he's probably being prepped for a run against a big forward line.SaintSimmo wrote:From today's game I would say 2 of Milera, Saad and Armitage are ikely to play round 1

it's ok Gringo Winmar shared your frustration- he thought he'd go to the second half only to find he couldn't get out of his driveway.
I was surprised I could travel all the way along beach road to Westgate as the runners were on the paths and not the road.
must have been one of the nicer marathon runs- or rather one of the mroe scenic- I don't think any marathon would be 'nice'

how do we challenge them for a flag then, when we lose the likes of reiwoldt, fisher, kozi, hayes, milne?stkildathunda wrote:GWS got 15 top 20 picks or something.
