Sorry but there's no excuse for Tommy. We have a new coach and clearly new opportunities.
He's either gone for the money, or cracked the s***s and is having a sook. Poor form Tommy. Thanks for wasting our time.
Gehrig emerged from scans yesterday saying he was "as sweet as a bun"
Why blame him! That's the way football is going so get use to it.
He is a mature aged career player who has an even shorter playing life than most recruits. He is here for the money Yes but he is also here to prove himself. He is an elite athlete that wanted to play at the highest level. He had to work hard, much harder than other recruits, to get to the required level and he needed some positive feedback in the form of senior games.

Do you think playing one or two seniors games would have kept him at the club considering he was offered so much more from Sydney?
Time to get a grip and wake up that these things occur in trade week
I'm not the only one saying it
It's been said we've been trying to sign him since mid year. Maybe he would've signed then if Lyon hadn't been coach and then Sydney wouldn't have been able to get their hooks into him.
Our first round picks from the two years under his watch are now torched in the space of a week.
Although 2009's pick 16 was already burnt, Walsh was the justification for gambling with it.
Saints must be looking for draft picks after missing other deals - delistings to come.
"... You want to pose a threat to the opposition in as many ways as you can, both defensively and offensively. We've got a responsibility to explore all those possibilities - and we will."
Things don't just occur in trade week .. we as a club didn't give the guy the time of day... we mocked him by "selecting" him a couple of times... and Lyin
played a role in frustrating the guy.
What an absolute fukking joke this is. What dumb prik allowed this to happen? It makes the new coach look a little silly after having just said he was definitely wanted. What the hell is going on?

get real. Lyon refused to play him - I dont know why he didnt get a game last year.
And Lyon was also publicly telling people that Tommy "couldnt handle the oval shaped ball".
If I didnt know better id say Lyon set him up for the swans. Lyon is a double agent and his heart beats true for the bloods of 2005. A real carnt. Im furious.
Walsh was on a rookie contract so only half the money counts in SC. He was to be listed and with our SC issues he would probably be on less money than as a rookie.
Sydney offers him big $$, we cant match it. Simple.
And for whomever said Lyon must cop the blame, this might by EXACTLY why Lyon didn't play him. He knew he was off to Sydney for more money so why bother. Just as feasible as all your other cockamaimie theories
Lance or James??
There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)
I don't blame Walsh from going. After all you play well week after week after week in the VFL and don't get rewarded you're going to start to feel you're only there make up the numbers. Yes he could of hung around with the new coach but he must of felt that he wasn't going to reward him.
