BALL TAMPERING

Intentional conduct, severe impact, high or groin contact = 9 activation points
This is the only offence that goes direct to tribunal for punishment, worse than a level 5 offence.

At level 5, striking would get 425 penalty points and kicking 750 penalty points.

Luke can only be found guilty of a striking offence as everybody knows he can't kick anymore.

It is an open and shut case so he pleading guilty would be the smart move. But as the case goes direct to the the tribunal, they do not have to give him a discount for an early guilty plea.

The tribunal also does not need to consider previous offences or good conduct.

At least a 5 match suspension.

What BS... what club in their right mind would draft him without speaking to him or conducting a medical examination?

Players get drafted all the time without speaking to clubs. As for the medical examination, well the risk you take. So you are saying that no one apart from Collingwood will take Luke Ball.

Yes but he cant get his way and that is why there is no draft tampering.

I'm saying they are hindering the process and other Clubs with higher picks.

Such a definitive statement. Then why even have a draft tampering rule if it is not possible to tamper with it?? Why are Essendon bringing this up?
Either he is attempting to prejudice the draft or he is not.

Exactly. The Pies have pick 30!!! In order for Ball to get there - he must engineer a pathway. That is what appears to be happening. Would have thought this was draft tampering.

But Melbourne may still want him. Is it only draft tampering if there a few clubs interested. it is either draft tampering or it is not. Surely the amount of clubs isnt a rule.

The Collective Bargaining Agreement provides that if Ball has allowed his medical records held by St Kilda FC to go to Collingwood FC they must be made available to other clubs on request.

Has he and his manager refused to talk to Melbourne?

The intent of the draft is equality of opportunity for the clubs in the order of their draft picks.

Apparently so. According to comments from Dean Bailey - he has refused to attend any talks with Melbourne. Ditto Essendon, Brisbane as per recent media. It looks like he is attempting to engineer his pathway direct to Collingwood.

plugger66 wrote: So at least 2 players are going to be charged this year. Bally and McPhee. My guess is no one will be charged because both players have only said that they have a preferred club. I dont think either have said they will not go to any other club. Happens every year but because it is one of our players we get upset. Why would we be upset with getting rid of a hack player who has no morals. That really confuses me.
I haven't heard any reports of McPhee threatening to stand out of footy for 12 months if he doesn't get his way.

If the report (or rumour) of Ball/Connors doing that is true then I cannot see how you can still deny this is not tampering with the draft. Unless you are just be contrary for the sake of it. If an under 18 had stated that then the AFL would throw the book at them.

Thanks Captain Obvious, it is shocking that St Kilda supporters would be upset that a player on our list is attempting to manipulate the rules of the competition to get to a club that refused to deal fairly with St Kilda.
Why would any of us care if it didn't involve St Kilda? Most other non St Kilda/Collingwood/Melbourne/Essendon football followers couldn't care less about what Luke Ball is doing.

Most of us are annoyed with him because he turned his back on the club at the first sight of things getting tough. Most of us over-estimated the character of Luke Ball. We're also pretty disappointed that he screwed the club over by nominating only one club to deal with.

I wanted him to stay but now he has gone, he's the enemy. While I don't wish him harm, I don't wish him any success.
