How do you noe Bat.

Would Tommy's connexion to the Saints help secure his younger brother(s)? Or are they being looked at by other clubs? One would hope that now that we have Tommy, we have a tenuous connexion with his brothers, at least more of a connexion than other clubs would have.

They have to be good prospects first

Of course they have to be good prospects before we sign them, however I'd still like to be their club of choice so we have the decision to take them or not if it came up.

Brothers generally like to stick together unless there is real animosity between them.
Tommy on our list would normally give us first refusal on his brother but if Tommy feels the club has or is not treating him right or opportunities are not there, he could advise his brother to go to another club.

Barry John will know he can trust Tommy's advice and experiences because he will know that they comes from a source that ONLY has his interest at heart.

The pre-selection of international rookies via the rookie draft enables the international rookie to pick the club of his own choosing.

This ball is in St Kilda's court.

Wise managers know that if they treat competent staff decently and with respect they can count on the staff in an emergency or the staff will get the manager out of a hole when it really matters.
However if management treat staff like disposable machines they can not expect loyalty.
It's a tough balance in professional football where players may not be as competent as those at rival clubs.
