What the go with redrafting him?

He’s either on the list and can play
Or
Off the list and he can’t play

There must be some sort of cap benefit/concession to us in choosing to redraft him as a rookie rather than paying out his contract for next year in full and cutting him. Either that or they think he’s a small chance of actually playing.

That's what I was thinking. Maybe if he is on the list his payout is part of the cap, if he's rookied maybe it's not part of the cap, or they can spread it over 2 seasons?
