Him and that other bloke thought they could improve the kicking of 18 year old elite recruits. Using quantum physics.

When that didn't pan out for anyone but most of the exhawthorn coaches and assistantcoaches getting around, he took his mumbo jumbo elsewhere, he then became a leadership/coaching guru and came and left Ratten rudderless.

Re: Au Revoir Chris Toce
I'm having a seperate conversion elsewhere that has a parallel.
It went something like this.
Bevo used paper and pen.
Watson and Waldron started collated data.
Toce implemented a national strategy
The next step is develop the talent.

I'm also time deprived and posting on the run like that may appear obnoxious or excited.
I'm falsely representing my argument. My apologies if it's hard to read.

Re: Au Revoir Chris Toce
Not a big deal, Toce has been at St Kilda for 9 years in variuous roles and it's not at all unreasonable or unusual that either the club, or Toce, or both, decided it was time for a change.
Let's face it, the final decisions on which draftee or trade prospect comes into the club is collegiate, between Allen, SOS and the coaches.
On a separate note, a sure sign that St Kilda is getting recognition in the corporate world is the injection of additional sponsorship dollars by Chery Motor and Westinghouse in the past 3 months.
As far as I'm concerned all of the things that have happened off-field since October 2022 have been extremely positive, and things will get even better if, as I predict, the Saints make top 4 next year.

Re: Au Revoir Chris Toce
I'm worried about this actually. Those bastard Hawks are building a $100Million facility right in our backyard (Dingley). Is anyone else concerned that they are going to steal our potential supporters/future members? This is not the first time Hawthorn has attempted to stuff us up.CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Thu 14 Dec 2023 10:00pmI think we are just in a much simpler race now, development from a strategic base.Vortex wrote: ↑Thu 14 Dec 2023 8:57pmWhen restructuring a business the best way to work out who is surplus to needs is to ask this question: can the man-hour be invoiced?
Middle Men (management) generally are the first to get tbe chop when bleeding cash because you can't invoice their service and they don't have any skills that can be used on the shop floor.
Toce had a National strategy. Good strategy, no longer the focus.
Footballer factories is where its at
We are investing in the South East and expanding develop strategies, community partnerships and brand and membership growth.
We have 3 choices, top 10 talent and top 25 sliders
Trade
Free agency.
We can tap our regions for the best talent and rookie and supplement from it.
Then there is Sandy, rookie spots and VFL player coaches.
The idea is not to bleed money but to inject it.
Its payback for the Moorabbin facility and the Frankston one is paid for, we might as well use it.
Geelong do similar.

Re: Au Revoir Chris Toce
This is a uniquely Australian game.
It is one of the many unique things about us as a nation that I parallel in my work with young men and now young women.
Success is about the journey.
Take a lot look around, relax, it's not all about the prize.
After you achieve success, you still have to take another journey.

I disagree strongly with this. Success is a Premiership...CQ SAINT wrote: ↑Fri 15 Dec 2023 1:57pm This is a uniquely Australian game.

They had patience in their leader. He fluked the draft. He knew what he was doing, so the cobblers did their job.
When it all ended and the smoke cleared, they moved him to the next job.
They sold their fattened cow after it finished grazing in the paddocks of the monolithic VFL Park.
They have a way to go.
Everyone just thinks they can get there faster than us.

Re: Au Revoir Chris Toce
The smart clubs, went interstate to get more recruits, to try and steal the cup.
They let the SANFL live.
The WAFC have been laughing all the way to the bank for 40 years, resistance is futile.
