he won't be guided by supporters ideas
JFC. How could you even think that, let alone write that and post it?

There's nothing wrong with throwing ideas around SW, of course as supporters we don't know what they might be considering at selection meeetings.SaintWiki wrote: ↑Tue 22 Aug 2023 7:02pmWell, RL has a history of resting players from memory but that doesn't mean he will do it this time. We'll see. One thing for sure is he won't be guided by supporters ideas, unless the selection committee, who have a lot more information available to them, happen to think the same.Scollop wrote: ↑Tue 22 Aug 2023 6:55pm The mistake will be keeping players happy by playing them in this upcoming game against Brisbane, versus doing the best thing for the team and the club's prospects in the first final
I wouldn't be trusting players with the decision. Personally, I would 'manage' 3-4 of my most important players... Take the decision out of their hands.
We have an experienced coach. He'll know what to do
I remember in 2015 (which was the year BEFORE the AFL introduced the bye for all teams playing finals) when Ross dropped 11 of his best players for the last game of home and away.
It worked. They won their first qualifying final

In a game that has no bearing on finals other than where St Kilda finishes up, 6th or 7th, it's of little consequence.
I'm working on the premise that St Kilda rarely wins in Brisbane, so I'd sooner they focus on the elimination final when they will want all their key players to be available and refreshed to go through to the semis.
They're likely to play one of Sydney, GWS or Footscray all of whom they have beaten this year.

Howard needs to rest until the end of the year. That wrist injury needs plenty of rest.
