Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 21 2022
I used to love the trip to Geelong more than anything in footy but boy am I so happy I stayed home tonight.
We look absolutely atrocious. Their ball movement is embarrassing us. That's coaching: that's what you practice on the training field.
We don't know how to move the ball because our coach doesn't know how to teach it. It's quite shocking, but it's worth pointing out that the administration actually extended the current coach's contract.
Much as I dislike Geelong, I love how they play footy and how they've built an entire ecosystem around winning at all costs.

I think Geelong just run harderThe Fireman wrote: ↑Sat 06 Aug 2022 8:57pm We just don’t man up when cats have the ball. Maybe the coach could tell them to try that ?

Commentary even noting 1 side moving the ball well the other can’t ..
Ratten hasn’t been able to reach this side how to transition the bloody ball
He’s out if his depth
No transition ball movement means no connection into 50
Woeful

Pretty obvious frees to us from some very sloppy Geelong play - but you imply that they were not there and the umpires just plucked them from mid air

Exactly but I'm not sure anymore whether our coach 'gets it'. Week after week we play the complete opposite.
Went to the Melb and Pies game last night with family friends and honestly we are a rabble in the way our team has developed.
The worst part is, a few years back, we actually were ahead of these two teams.

Really?? Melbourne played off in a prelim in 2019. Collingwood narrowly lost a Grand Final in 2018. How we were ahead??saintkid wrote: ↑Sat 06 Aug 2022 9:03pmExactly but I'm not sure anymore whether our coach 'gets it'. Week after week we play the complete opposite.

And he’s run his guts out so far tonight. This performance is absolutely not on him.whiskers3614 wrote: ↑Sat 06 Aug 2022 9:01pm How can we possibly lose?

I hope he’s loving the cash we’re in paying him because he must hate playing in this poor team with an even poorer game plan.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 21 2022
If Membrey was always planning on passing that, why did he wait so long for Geelong to completely flood back?

What's the point of Membrey holding it up for so long and then chipping it in? so frustrating and easy to defend.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 21 2022
Geelong have taken the foot off the gas.
They couldn’t believe how easy we were to play against in that first quarter
We’ve lulled them into a false sense of security.
