How about the Southern Bulldogs?
Footscray seem popular in Launceston.

I think it will be whoever is down the bottom of the ladder when/if the time comes out of Melbourne, Saints, North and Bulldogsshanegrambeau wrote: ↑Sun 29 Aug 2021 5:23pm How about the Southern Bulldogs?

Gotta love the ‘rationalists’ who believe footy is not passionate and organic..
Just think, there would be no Footscray, North, Melbourne, Hawthorn and St Kilda would be the Southern Saints…if the nineties had followed that course..
The billions spent on Gold Coast could have paid for two stand alone teams in Tassie up until now.
Still neglecting Melbourne’s footy heartland and supporter land…
I bet half of the population inside the tram line perimeter of Melbourne couldn’t name five teams in the AFL.
Of course the silly public holiday for Grand Final is a stunt.

And totally pointless - as it means less people are actually in the CBD on that day - very few would travel into the city to stand 5 deep at a silly parade - better going to the Captain's Run of trainingshanegrambeau wrote: ↑Mon 30 Aug 2021 2:43pm

If it was a work day - people might take a longer lunch
And a public holiday for the Monday to recover from Hangovers

Re: No way Saints are moving to Tasmania and thank god for that
Moving interstate means a club no longer exists.
Fitzroy FC not longer exists.
South Melbourne FC not longer exists.
University FC not longer exists. ("Merged' with Melbourne.)
I'm gob-smacked some people can't see this!
And why would we move? Despite our unrivalled ability as a club to shoot ourselves in the foot, we're still here after 150-odd (very odd) years. We're survivors.
Another post mentioned flags are a club's number one priority. I'd say survival is number one.
What good do Fitzroy's 8 flags do them now?
What good would the Dawks mighty run in the 70s and 80s have done them if they'd folded only a few years later in the 90s?
What good would Team Drug's 16 flags have done them if they'd been kicked out of the comp' as they should have been?
