Re: Match thread v Melbourne
After being closer than we should have in the first, the umps got us a few goals which got us moving, had all the run then just got too cute and handed it all back to the Dees.
Should be a few goals up, hopefully Ratts gives them a spray.

Re: Match thread v Melbourne
Salem is killing Butler who has been completely unsighted. Butler needs to be told to just shut Salem down.
Is Hunter Clark playing?
Is Jack Higgins playing?
Webster & Jones have been ordinary.
Gees we need Ryder & Marshall back Hunter & McKernan have been ordinary, particular in marking contests.
How is it we had Battle & King both off at the same time and noone to kick to going forward.
Basically Melbourne have wanted it more are working harder and are leading as a result. The positive is we are not playing well and are still within 4 points.
Ratts needs to give them an absolute rocket!

Re: Match thread v Melbourne
Melbourne put a player behind the ball and so we stopped running forward and became sideways cute - cots us momentum and three goals.

Not affecting my judgement at all, we’re losing because we’ve only played 10 good minutes out of 40, only ourselves to blame.bangaulegend wrote: ↑Sat 27 Mar 2021 8:47pmJust give it a rest mate yeah we had a few they had a few don't be a martyr for the umpiring fraternity. Frees going our way 13-6 (I think the usuals forgot to post this?) is just part of the game, swings and roundabouts.
Get our act together and we should roll them, but the Dees will smash us if we don’t get smart quick.

Re: Match thread v Melbourne
Jones, Higgins, McKernan, Battle 5 possessions in a half.
King, Butler & Long 4 possessions in half.
Hunter & Lonie 3 possessions in a half.
50% of the team have had a total 36 possessions!

Re: Match thread v Melbourne
I thought Hill was meant to be a good player, there's been nothing but excuses for his poor performances ever since he arrived at the Saints.
Hope he lifts in the 2nd half. Not that he's on his own playing wise in this game.

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

A lot of down players, which means a lot of opportunities to lift

Clark has been abducted by aliens and replaced with a zombie clone.
This was my father's belief
And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf--
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children's teeth are set on edge
By bitter bread and wine.
