Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
Based on our selectors this season, Kent is ranked above many others, including, Lonie, Sinclair, Carlisle, Hind, Dunstan and even Battle. I put him far below any in that bunch, but if they stick to their guns, what ever philosophy that is, they’ll pick him again.
I feel for any player that gets picked every home and away (he may have slipped out with injury once?) and then gets dropped for the finals, but still think Jones is better value..even as a C grader. However, it wouldn’t surprise me if they keep Kent.
Sincs, even as a low possession getter, is so much better and has skills and fast decision making to boot.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
If Jones is fit then the unlucky one is Kent.
Lonie hit the score board and pressure seemed better than Kent.
Sinclair been more consistent than Kent this year and we need run and carry - especially if the Dogs.
If Dogs will Gears go to Johanason again as he needs to be sat on and i don't think Kent can do that . Clark moves to half back , Jones to the middle and Gear to half forward tag- makes sense Kent out then - unlucky

Jake might be the one to miss out. Will depend on whether we are playing the dullbogs or the filth. imhfo, that is.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
I'm hoping it's Kent for Jones but my guess is Lonie given the knee injury and selection history this season.
I prefer Lonie as he can crumb and provides a lot more pressure, Kent for mine will go missing in the heat of the final.
Can't see Sinclair going out as he is more versatile than Lonie or Kent and could go forward, wing or into the middle for a stretch.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
I would be very disappointed if they drop Jake, especially to keep someone like Kent in. He was horrible against GWS.
Surely it's Jones for Kent, don't f*ck this up Ratts!

I think they'll be waiting for that - id prefer Patton there and Geary on Caleb Daniel.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
I'm not sure two defensive minded players in our backline works for us. Geary for JJ, expose Daniel with a marking player and make him a Top 3 target.
Sinclair is safe. If Jones is good to go, he must play. Kent in trouble unless Lonie does not pull up well.

I think if Geary plays on Caleb Daniel he will be torn a new one.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
Geary to JJ. Paton on Daniels. Kent out for Jones only if Jones is 100%. I'd want them to give his hamstrings a flogging to make sure they'll hold up. Last thing we need is Jones going down in the first quarter.
You know it makes sense.

Spot on. Battle achieved what most of Haynes' opponents over his career have not been able to ... he made him actually defend and not just 3rd man up intercept mark.PADDLEPOP1001 wrote: ↑Sat 19 Sep 2020 12:19am Battle had a job to shut down Haynes & did that superbly!
God how I wish Ross Lyin had've made Nick Maxwell actually defend a forward in 2020 v1

I reckon it will be Jake to miss if Aaron Naughton doesn't come up.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
The 'don't shoot Bambi conundrum' is actually Ross for Jones.
I know Ross has been doing some excellent jobs over the past month but, he had a pretty awful 1st and start of the 2nd of Coniglio. I get the Kent for Jones thing but, they're different types of players.
I actually really rate Kent's running and pressure and he fills a role in the team that other's don't. Jones and Ross on the other hand are same-ish position-wise.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
I think Carlisle's spot is on shaky ground. Dogs and Pies forward lines could be quelled without Jake's help this week and so bring in some energy. I know its not like for like but the slippery conditions could dictate Zak comes in for Jake.
Kent ain't going anywhere, Ratts loves him and the role he plays.
If Zac isn't ready then the team will either be unchanged or if they really feel Carlisle is a liability they might roll the dice on Dunny if he is good to go.

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
I know that. But that's the like for like position-wise.
Having said that - he'd want to do a much better job on McCrae, Hunter or Bont than he started with on Cogs (I know your love for Ross runs deep but, that's just a simple fact). If he quells one of those 3 like he does done recently - I'll be cheering his name from the rooftops

Is it settled that we play Bulldogs or can it still be Collingwood?

If Collingwood win then we play them as the 'away' team
If Collingwood lose then we play WB as the 'home' team

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
So it’s in Collingwood’s interest to win, since we have largely been their bitch since the 2010 replay.

We can't play Collingwood because we'll be playing in the white, would love to see the traditional strip v dogs

Re: Changes for the Elimination Final
Why would it even be suggested?
Like you I do not get the Ross hate here.
Ross is a decent B grade mid and a walk up start in the team.
