What was the official crowd and the unofficial estimate for the greatest ever " lake premiership " ?
Just give me a hand here - was the "lake premiership" a game between St Kilda and Sth Melb as the clubs on either side of the Albert Park Lake? If so, I guess that this must have been pre 1965 when St KFC moved to Mooorabbin??

That's as close as I can get to this question
Very good !
The game also featured two of the famous champions of the Vfl .
One who has always held at special place in the eyes of saints fans and the other who used to play for us but ended up there at south !
The match was last round of the season , both teams had a chance to play finals , so the expectation led to a bumper crowd .
That would be 1923 when we were in the 4 but lost the last round to South at the Lake Oval to drop to 6th.
They had "our" Roy Cazaly.
The one who had a special place for us you refer to is probably player of the colony Dave McNamara.
But don't forget that side also included 200 gamer Wels Eicke, and Bill Cubbins was useful as well.
The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.
They can even WATCH LIVE FOOTY!
I'll take the liberty of assuming i am right and propose the next question.
What is the most consecutive VFL/AFL games we have played at each of our home grounds?
(Just the big 4 – Junction Oval, Moorabbin, Waverley, and Docklands - let's not complicate things by including Toorak Park etc.).

Let’s eliminate the easy ones first …
In recent times we have played at shared grounds so not surprisingly our all-time record is 8 consecutive games at Docklands in 2000 (rounds 5 to 12).
Similarly we shared Waverley Park where in 1993 we played 5 consecutive games (rounds 9 to 13).
But what I am interested is back in the good old days of single club grounds like Moorabbin and The Junction Oval.
What is the most consecutive games we played at those venues?
Moorabbin 3 in 1985 and 1988
JO 3 on 7 occasions in 1903,1906,1913,1944,1945,1946-47,1952-53 (yes some during the wars and some overlapping seasons)
But the interesting ones are …
JO 4 on 3 occasions
- 1897 (rounds 5-8),
- 1899 (also rounds 5-8), and
- 1900-01 (they had a different finals playoff system in those days and we finished 1900 playing in two losses at the JO and then started 1901 with two home games – we lost all 4).
I suspect Adrian Anderson’s grandfather had something to do with that scheduling?

Doesn't blakey hold the record for the most games before getting a vote ?
But i thought it was in the 180 to 190 region .
Didn't he get the votes against that wet toast dud Hickey when he was at the bums !
