Tend to agree with WW and JM...... just can't help but feel at some stage we need big bodied midfield class and watching Sydney didn't dent that view. Hurley would be great but geez watching the ball time and again zing out of the middle the other night I'm not sure he'd have been able to stop that from backline ..

Very easy to celebrate missing out, but I'm disappointed. Hurley would have been a great get. Quality players dont grow on trees, and despite us now being "a destination club", there aren't many banging down the door.

Saints withdrew offer, not sure why, but we withdrew, as did Demons apparently!!!!!

All clubs went 'COLD' on him real quick, for some UN-known reason, stay tuned, it will come out in the wash, I'm sure, or the speculation will anyway!!!!!

What is the price of an All Australian defender who was playing under the pressure he was with the club falling to pieces around him. Until 2015 he was highly underrated.

Good luck to him. He must have refused medicals. Was never going to leave. Those pricks are going to win a flag. Channel 7 will see to it.

The thing is that nobody new what Hurley wanted, only suspected he wanted to remain a Bomber. But a due process had to be followed and we would be negligent if we didnt chase required players and do our homework.

So in the end Stonecold made an early call and it didnt pan out. the club would also thinking oh well it didn't work out for us so move on. and as far as early calls go how did the Carlisle trade go? Right down to the wire in the final hour.

We always have several targets in mind, some we win some we don't and that doesn't mean we weren't interested. especially this early in the trade season.

So good on you stonecold for sticking with your guns, and it was certainly earlier than any in the press came out with
