From AFL Indicative Draft
"If a club trades a future first-round selection, it may not trade any other future selections from the same draft. However if a club retains its future first-round selection, it can trade multiple future selections from other rounds."
Is it like playing a match, there are rules but they are not enforced.
There are guidelines to umpires that change from week to week and are enforced so play to the guidelines.
So at the 2017 trade period GWS (premiers) goes to Brisbane (wooden spooners) and says.Rosco wrote:we will never get an answer other than it was approved by the AFL
Hey lets swap 2018 first round draft picks, we will give players X , Y, & Z.
Brisbane then drops 17 places in the first round for 2018 but probably 22 places during the progress of the draft.
Brisbane then goes and trades their second third and fourth round picks from 2018.
They can do this because they still have GWS 2018 1st rounder.
That's OK.

The rule is in relation to the original picks to be issued to any club. Clubs can trade any extra picks that they get in without restriction.Rosco wrote:Hearing reports that AFL forgot about this rule, free kick hawthorn. Exactly. That they traded their own 2nd rounder is my point.saintsRrising wrote:The rule is in relation to the original picks to be issued to any club. Ok. Getting close now.
Out of interest I wonder if there have been any instances of hacking leaking or subterfuge by clubs before the draft.

Re: Jaxons come on down
Hope we don't have the immediate post draft negativity like we did last year, when some posters complained about Gresham being a poor choice because he was only 177cm tall. Funny how two of the top four ranked players this year are 177cm and 178cm tall.

First bit I will give is let's hope North don't take Florent with their first pick.
It is a long shot but he may sneak through if Kangas take a slider from the top 10.

In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Callum Twomey has Florent going at 13 so I think our chances are slim on that one. Would be a good get though.

There isn't much visually with the draft so the radio is just as good really.

Phantom drafts don't always turn out the same way as the real thing.
However I agree it's a big if he gets past Nth.
If he does though he could get very close to us.

Looking back over the past few years - Callum Twomey has been very close in his top 15-20 phantom's to actual draft outcomes.
After pick 15 or so he tends to be a bit off though as do most of them.
