First year players coming back a week early. the 16th i think. Older players get an extra week so everyone should be back around 30 November. Evereyone trained until the GF apart from injured players.ace wrote:Players who were not required to train for the AFL finals may have been excused early and sent on holiday early.saintly wrote:wouldn't you expect that only the 25 - 22 plus the 3 emergencies would not be back until later next month. but those who playeyed in the vfl ony wold surely be back sooner then the seniors.??ace wrote:When will we see these Irish Guys.
Well, the home and away season finished 30 August.
That means the teams that finished outside the 8 have just finished their 8 week holiday and will resume pre-season training this week.
Theoretically those clubs could start trialling Irish players this week.
However St Kilda season did not finish until 26 September.
That means pre-season training should not start until Monday 23 November.
Rookie prelisting ahead of the rookie draft closes Tuesday 1 Decmber.
That only gives St Kilda one week to assess the players and get their signatures.
If a player were to train for two weeks as suggested for Moran they would need t ostart training before the main list returns.
They would not be alone in this training as aussies hoping to be taken by St Kilda in the pre-season draft and rookie draft on Tuesday 15 December would probably need to start training with the club earlier.
They may be required to return earlier.
More meat and potatoes required.
Anyone who trained for the AFL finals would not be required to start pre-season before 23 November.

Have just spoken to my Irish mate who is a huge fan of Kerry
He is saying that Tommy's little brother will also come out for a trial with a club next year and that David Moran has a drinking problem, i know he is Irish and all, but i would assume that the saints wont look at him if he cant be controlled?

In case of David Moran we are talking about St Kilda here not the drunken alleys of Carlton and Collingwood.Batnoe wrote:Have just spoken to my Irish mate who is a huge fan of Kerry

We don't have Fevolas, Didaks and Milanes to lead him astray.
In the case of Tommy's brother you would have to think St Kilda would have its' shoe in the door with Tommy already in the red, white and black.

Don't know.
But guesswork would suggest with international rookie pre-selections closing on 1 December, a two week trial would require a 16 November start.
That is when the young group are expected to resume training.
The main group resuming 23 November.
They are close friends and team mates from the same county and same club within the county.
A bit like coming from the same local town team in country Victoria.
It would make sense they would travel together.
If my guesswork is correct, hope to see them both 16 November.
