David King explained a few things about the FA last week and I was'nt aware of some of that policy. The main point being that the FA was bought in to help the player not the club, It was not designed to lift team A from last to inside the 8 in other terms even out the competition. Dont quote me on it.

I think the number one reason was to stop the AFL getting sued for restraint of trade. Self interest rules at AFL house.
