Apparently a leak of who each team plays twice next year.

For us:
Top 6
Richmond
GWS

Middle 6

I'm fine with that. Only play the Crows and Sydney once each - should do wonders for our percentage. Also they are mostly Melb teams, possibly play Hawks in Tassie though...

Friggin' Bombers - that list is a massive gift for them....

Amen to that

2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn

happy with two top 6 and one bottom 6? again.
one good thing - the double against north means GF more likely (our only hope of any kind of gf for awhile yet).

Can't wait for Round 1 already. Lock it in! About time we were favourites for the 1st game and played at home against a bottom tier side. A good win may set the season up strongly!! :D

what a surprise - Not
COLLINGWOOD will be handed a dream draw in a major boost to coach Nathan Buckley’s bid to break the club’s five-year finals drought.

And premier Richmond has dodged a nightmare fixture with only two double-up games against top-six teams — Adelaide and Geelong.

With the 2018 fixture to be released tomorrow, The Herald Sun can reveal the Magpies will only play two teams from this year’s top 12 twice — Richmond and Essendon — and have struck gold with double-ups against stragglers Carlton, Brisbane Lions and Fremantle.

and apparently we are ' Improving" despite the naysaying supporters
The Giants must play the Crows, Swans and West Coast twice as well as return games against an improving St Kilda.

Just disgusting that the afl continually set up a fixture to suit their agenda and deliberately favour certain clubs.
how can they justify essendon's draw? but no one in the media takes them to task. clubs just take it knowing they afl are all too happy to punish anyone that doesn't tow the line.
Lets simplify it and rank all clubs on a points system. the higher the rating the easier the draw. i.e. richmond are one, brisbane are eighteen.
numbers on the far right are points total and position by draw difficulty. The final number should align with the first.
1. Richmond - Adelaide, Geelong, Essendon, St Kilda, Collingwood 38 - 2
2. Adelaide - Richmond, GWS, Port, Melbourne, Carlton 37 - 1
3. Geelong - Richmond, Sydney, Melbourne, Hawthorn, Gold Coast 44 - 8
4. GWS - Adelaide, Sydney, West Coast, St Kilda, Brisbane 45 - 10
5. Sydney - Geelong, GWS, West Coast, Hawthorn, North 40 - 3
6. West Coast - GWS, Sydney, Port, Bulldogs, Fremantle 41 - 4
7. Port Adelaide - Adelaide, West Coast, Essendon, Bulldogs, Fremantle 41 - 4
8. Essendon - Richmond, , Hawthorn, Collingwood, Fremantle 47 - 11
9. Melbourne - Adelaide, Geelong, St Kilda, Bulldogs, Gold Coast 43 - 7
10. St Kilda - Richmond, GWS, Melbourne, Hawthorn, North 41 - 4
11. Bulldogs - West Coast, Port, Melbourne, North, Carlton 53 - 13
12. Hawthorn - Geelong, Sydney, Essendon, St Kilda, Brisbane 44 - 8
13. Collingwood - Richmond, Essendon, Fremantle, Carlton, Brisbane 57 - 14
14. Fremantle - West Coast, Port, Essendon, Collingwood, Carlton 50 - 12
15. North - Sydney, St Kilda, Bulldogs, Gold Coast, Brisbane 61 - 16
16. Carlton - Adelaide, Bulldogs, Collingwood, Fremantle, Gold Coast 57 - 14
17. Gold Coast - Geelong, Melbourne, North, Carlton, Brisbane 61 - 16
18. Brisbane - GWS, Hawthorn, Collingwood, North, Gold Coast 61 - 16

looking at that certain clubs stand out amongst those around them.
geelong, essendon, bulldogs get 'lucky'
saints, hawks, freo shafted again.
we come 10th - get equal 4th hardest draw. hmmm - lines up with our 3rd hardest for 9th last year.

Hawks get a tough draw
http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/a ... zbbmo.html
The Hawks twice play Geelong and Sydney which are both from the top bracket, Essendon and St Kilda twice from the middle bracket and only one side, Brisbane, from the bottom bracket of teams twice.

Essendon in contrast finished in the eight yet gets to play two teams from the bottom six sides twice – Collingwood and Fremantle.

In part these anomalies occur because of commitments such as Anzac Day, Dreamtime at the "G" and Queen's Birthday

And yes the Dons get an easy draw. Reason supposedly is because the AFL ALSO gives them fat games to make $$$$$. So Dons get the prime game slots, the $$$ AND and ALSO easier draw so they are more likely to play finals. Just as well they are not drug cheats or otherwise the AFL would choose to look after instead the teams that play by the rules....Oh wait!!!!

We never won in Perth or Sydney so why not stay and play all our games at Etihad. F*** all the interstate members that fork out their hard earned membership money.
We didn't do well enough to improve our position in terms of club requests. We will definitely get several interstate games, particularly with Richmond's draw probably showing less, Collingwood and Essendon having the bare minimum interstate games. We should try for Tassie game not a the home game. We would be seen as sufficiently testing in those games to the opposition and do attract reasonable crowds there.

I expect we will probably get 2 GWS, 1 Sydney at home, both SA away games, 1 or 2 WA away games. Brisbane or Gold Coast will probably host one away game for us with others at Etihad. We will cop some "away" games in Melbourne against the big clubs to have a draw being roughly as difficult as this years was. We cant expect better but it will be interesting to see if we hold Friday night games with some Sunday evening games or perhaps the reverse.

In short we wont get what w want until we break the finals barrier.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

The Injectors.

Dope your players, deny responsibility, blame the AFL for poor governance, threaten to drag down the entire league,
take legal action, prolong the case for years, damage the brand, cry murder at token penalties, play the victim, whine
and whine and whine ...

... then get rewarded with the softest of soft draws.

Lets be honest.
The AFL are desperate for the Pies and Injectors to make the 8 in 2018.

GWS and Geelong get their perennial gifts of soft draws. Dogs will be thrown a lifeline.

We are already up against it.

Geelong 5
Essendon 3
Bulldogs 2
Collingwood 1
North 1
Tigers 1
Lions -1
Crows -1
Sydney -2
West Coast -2
Melbourne -2
Freo -2
Blues -2
Gold Coast -1
Port -3
Hawks -4
Saints -6

So saints get totally shafted and GWS get a dream ride
Surprises??? I think not

Shocking as usual by AFL... they cannot get everyone at 0 but should be able to keep all teams within the -3 to 3 range
