how can they justify essendon's draw? but no one in the media takes them to task. clubs just take it knowing they afl are all too happy to punish anyone that doesn't tow the line.
Lets simplify it and rank all clubs on a points system. the higher the rating the easier the draw. i.e. richmond are one, brisbane are eighteen.
numbers on the far right are points total and position by draw difficulty. The final number should align with the first.

And yes the Dons get an easy draw. Reason supposedly is because the AFL ALSO gives them fat games to make $$$$$. So Dons get the prime game slots, the $$$ AND and ALSO easier draw so they are more likely to play finals. Just as well they are not drug cheats or otherwise the AFL would choose to look after instead the teams that play by the rules....Oh wait!!!!

About time for a season where we don't go to Adelaide. Under normal circumstances that would be enough to be able to make the 8.

We never won in Perth or Sydney so why not stay and play all our games at Etihad. F*** all the interstate members that fork out their hard earned membership money.

We didn't do well enough to improve our position in terms of club requests. We will definitely get several interstate games, particularly with Richmond's draw probably showing less, Collingwood and Essendon having the bare minimum interstate games. We should try for Tassie game not a the home game. We would be seen as sufficiently testing in those games to the opposition and do attract reasonable crowds there.

I expect we will probably get 2 GWS, 1 Sydney at home, both SA away games, 1 or 2 WA away games. Brisbane or Gold Coast will probably host one away game for us with others at Etihad. We will cop some "away" games in Melbourne against the big clubs to have a draw being roughly as difficult as this years was. We cant expect better but it will be interesting to see if we hold Friday night games with some Sunday evening games or perhaps the reverse.

In short we wont get what w want until we break the finals barrier.
