If he did spit on Jake, he should be rubbed out. And they should be able to pick it up on the replay if he did.

What a skipper, perfect for the blues really.

Just saw it on Fox.
It looks like he ran past and called him a soft bump.

IF the AFL investigate- will the players 'tell' or hold to the code?

Re: Carslile incident
Everyone sitting around me leapt up from our seats as soon as Murphy turned to go to Jake. We were all watching as after the initial shakes of pain Jake hadn't moved. (pretty brave lying still in the middle of traffic like that) The guy next to me and I were already yelling abuse when Geary got to Murphy.
Watching the highlights and Carlisle was inset lying on the ground as the play went on. Unfortunately they removed the inset probably a second before Murphy would have come into shot. That camera would have still been rolling so hopefully Murphy gets outed on one of Fox's footy shows this week.
I will be interested in what fine Murphy gets when they are dished out. Will he get more for provoking the brawl or less for being the one who is attacked? With the Saints record the MRP will find a way to rub Geary out and do nothing to Murphy.

Re: Carslile incident
Saw it all unfold. Right in front of us. Really worked in our favour I think. Totally fired us all up where we were sitting. Great response from our lads, particularly our captain. Stupid from Murphy to say the least.

Rubbed out until well into 2019 should finish his career.

Re: Carslile incident
The MRP will just issue a fine or probably do nothing. You can't rub out a Carlton captain. Gilligan will have none of that.

Re: Carslile incident
It was a dog act but ( imho ) the MRP will take a look at it, then move on. In some respects, I'm sometimes puzzled at how some AFL fans yearn for the " good old days " before footy became (quote) "sanitised", an era when this sort of behaviour was commonplace, but then get outraged about Murphy's conduct yesterday. Interesting.

We want to be outraged jiggster,it's all part of the theatre and gives heckling and venting ammunition. The AFL need to bring in a rule that allows one thug (or weak dog like Murphy acts) per week per team.

He got what he deserved. We won. Issue a few fines and move on. I love this game. He probably told Carlisle that he had no nuts and then had his handed to him via the scoreboard.
Move on. Nothing to see here.

Re: Carslile incident
As I say, interesting. I've seen footage from days past, " bumps and biffs" or some such title, narrated by Rex Hunt. It contained some of the dirtiest, cheap shots and king hits imaginable, and to my way of thinking, glorified the cheap shot.

Purple has claimed on the footy show this morning that Murphy was so upset at the verballing he was receiving that re reacted uncharacteristically. Carlton PR department has swung into action.

I don't care. You don't attack a bloke when he can't defend himself.
Bluescum typical reaction, it's in their DNA to cover up and justify criminal or immoral actions.
What's with the "damsel and the King"?

Harry O'Brien/Heritier Lumumba who was a Filth/Demons/Wimmera Reserves player
called some guy "gay" or "faggot" or something got in trouble.
But bagging someone about a rumour is perfectly fine, it's getting under their skin and putting them off the game.
Have to be assertive and aggressive. It's not bloody netball, FFS.
You shake hands after the game.
Murphy still married her in Oct last year, I think
