Re: Saints V Dogs Thread
Gresham nowhere near ready to play AFL footy. On what objective data is he getting a game before Minchington?
Just because he was a higher draft pick? Is that it?
Nothing against Gresh and Im sure he will come good. But hes not ready right now and Minch is banging the door down. It is BS.

any chance of an umpire paying ball free kicks

Is Bruce a himbo? Love his attack on the ball and high marking but why sit a high ball to Jack Lonie against three tall defenders.

Can someone please to me why we a persevering with Sam Gilbert?
Rugby League would have to be the stupidest, most moronic and over rated game of all time.
Re: Saints V Dogs Thread
Our structure is doing ok lots of skill errors dogs just more skillful and run in waves from HBO. But we r taking risks and trying to move footy fast but not good enough yet Gresham not up to afl speed.

Re: Saints V Dogs Thread
Hurts when you play better than the opposition for a qtr but get further behind. In the back looking like it's decided by what jumper you wear. Wallace gets it and Gresham gets driven twice as bad, in front of goals, and it's holding the ball. Amazing really.
Roo and Bruce cant keep missing easy shots. It's killing us and must be doing the same to their team mates who have been relentlessly gut running.
Holding at ruck contests must have also been made legal. Missed that memo.
Should be much closer. They know we can come back.

Agreed, I was annoyed to find he was selected. Kid, small, not experienced and in a fiercely dast competition. Needs time to develop in the twos.
I was certain Mnchington would get a run. getting 40+ possessions even in a practice match of lower talent, means he has fitness and can bolster a team that I believe needs more match practice.
Its time to bring in some bigger bodies. We seem to be small and this doesn't help when you need the run at the end of the game, after battling height all game or if you are chasing butt for much of the match.
The pressure needs to be applied and as Richo said a week ago that we don't defend well when other teams run from half back. We give them plenty of opportunity due to kicking turnovers, often from our more senior players!
Love Roo and wish him the best but he leads to pockets then misses way too much, part6icularly in Perth. I have been saying this for 8+ years now and he demands the ball there too so its a lost opportunity as he is double teamed to a more difficult shot.
I loved watching Fraser and Koschitzke working together in Perth. Nick seemed to upset their set up often when over here. Tremdous player but he has needed help for years, since Fraser retired.
Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

Re: Saints V Dogs Thread
Stats looking very like last week a half time only in reverse. Will we have Ports finishing power? I doubt it, we are too small and will be too tired, given we look like we need 2 more games to be 4 quarter competitive.

Re: Saints V Dogs Thread
If Richo is fair dinkum about his 4 quarter effort requirement, then Weller, Gilbert & Ross and a few others are out this week…
Different rules for different players though as we know.

Riewoldt cracks a tanty like a toddler when they dont pass to him. They put one down his throat straight in front. He misses.

We will be bottom 4. Wont win the spoon though. Essendon and Carlton will be hard to beat for that. The Fireman wrote:could we win the spoon ?
Freo are also Spoon bound. Probably not this year but next year. Lyon has been FOUND OUT AS A FRAUD.

Something else other than pressure is required to win matches. The getting of goals from team attacking play to a leading forward in the middle 60 degrees of the ground is needed. We cant rely solely on forward pressure to cause scores from turnovers. Tonight we have missed too many of these.
Good to see Nick gets a good goal.
