Re: NAB Match Thread v Roos
I was really hoping 8cres would start to come good this year. So far 4 possessions with only 1 in that 2nd quarter.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Richo just said Paddy "has given his hamstring a bit of a tweak". Wont play any more of this game. Sad face.

He's been better than what you're indicating. He's been a real threat up forward - almost go another goal but was called a throw to him. They've been rotating a lot with 8 on the bench so don't expect normal numbers.Jacks Back wrote:I was really hoping 8cres would start to come good this year. Not too much. Either has Lonie, Sinclair or Goddard.Freebird wrote:Hickey - has he been impressive?

Acres might have been off the ground a lot. They've been carefully nursing him because of injuries.Jacks Back wrote:See aboveBluthy wrote:He's been better than what you're indicating. where the boys have lacked in skill and smarts at times they have certainly made up for in their intensity. Very competitive. The umps over umpiring both ways. Savage getting a lot of the pill. Holmes improving as the game goes on.

This has been a horrible quarter. Can't seem to stem the tide.

Lot of fringe players out there - Curren, Saunders, Shenton plus all our rookies. This is what we expected.Freebird wrote:We won't want for players to be dropped off the list..many ordinary players out there

Ordinary effort now, no class in the midfield, and same old story of last year with cheap turnovers from poor kicking skills. A few players probably not up to it from what I can see at this early stage in the season. Anyway, North have a reasonably experienced team of hard bodies in there, so let's just keep trying.

Idiott umps are making the game impossible to watch again..AFL is run by idiots don't they know one more ump just means another 25% of unwanted whistle ego blowing little men.
Umps have more influence on play than players..why would you bother paying money to see them

Re: NAB Match Thread v Roos
Sinclair goal - ice cool man! The difference between him who when he gets the ball can actually think through what to do with it, and others who jsut give it away stands out. Ross getting a lot of it but doesn't do much with it.

This is a replica of the game in Hobart last year. Hopefully we can win the last quarter.

Re: NAB Match Thread v Roos
Absolutely no outsider runners at all apart from occasionally Savage. How Can Hickey take that ball cleanly on the wing and have to kick? Noone running past him? Same for acres. Has it clear but noone gets clear for the overlap handpass.

And thats where Armo, STeven, Joey will come in - hard running over lappers. The kids are already wilting in the heat.Con Gorozidis wrote:Absolutely no outsider runners at all apart from occasionally Savage. How Can Hickey take that ball cleanly on the wing and have to kick? Re: NAB Match Thread v Roos
This is exactly why we recruited Carlisle and Freeman - we have nobody capable of stopping players from breaking the lines against us, and no outside pace in the centre of the ground.
We are still a bottom five side and this won't change until next year in 2017.
