Is it just me or do we always kick heaps of behinds and the opposition can't miss!? Once again we should be 20+ up at the half.

Really like Gilbo running forward. His kicking long at goals is pretty good. Just wished he would kick longer when in defence. He follows through and drops the ball to foot better when looking forward.

Hate the lost opportunity again with several easy goals missed and the 5 goals that Geelong got in the last 5 minutes of each of the quarters. Grrr.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

Needs to get into it in the third tho. He dropped off considerably in the second quarter.

Any chance of Goddard not getting under the ball every time and not touching the ball when trying to spoil? Maybe needs to play from behind. I know he's young but those are pretty basic things for a defender.

Its not you its true and has been for 4 weeks now.

The better sides, while under pressure seem to go central once they get clear and score. Geelong have had a free player several times deep forward that's created bedlam.

We need to continue the pressure. We have had enough player changes this week to ensure we don't drop away in the contest so we will see how there mental application is applied.

Need to continue to be daring and create space. When we do we look good although don't kick straight when aiming at that space between the sticks.

Nick running around midfield and backs is a good thing. It gives us another look at how functional the forwards are when we have one tall not demanding the ball. This is needed for the future.

Not sure Dunstan is injury free. He looks very slow at times. Minchington still hasn't added any value since half time. Midfield test now for the rest of this game. We miss Armo.

Ive been on the case of selectors on the 2 ruck operation for at least 9 rounds. Hickey left aand has returned a new man. Now he is adding value as he scores. He wasn't previously but has the capability.

Someone needs to cover Guthrie at stoppages he is an outside mid who runs well and is the main factor in Geelong's ability to move the ball quickly then central. This provides opportunity for improved scoring efficiency. Saints need to learn from this. They sometime try to go ventral too early and turn it over. Not so bad today but spending too much time along wings.

He is slow. But 90% disposal efficiency can make up for that. Alas, he is at 60%.

Another little contributor to many turnovers when Saints let their opposition apply pressure to themselves when they have the ball. They take a mark and obviously don't have a clear direction but still stand on the mark.

The result is that their opposition player stands th mark and then the Saint player feeds off by hand or foot often under some pressure that was not needed if they had taken 1 or 2 steps back behind the mark.

I reckon 30% of turnovers occur due to non decisions then poor disposal after not backing from the mark. I know they want to help the run on by protecting their player from those standing the mark but often the receiving player is fumbling around just to retrieve the ball and the opposition get to them anyway.

And repeat again, Savage on mark swivels abd gets away with it but pass to Steven under pressure then turnover and shot at goal by Geelong. Geeez skills and decision making!!!!!

I cringe every time Geary goes near the ball. To think, some talk about him as a future captain. Joking surely!
