Can someone clarify for me. When is the first practice game near Brisbane and where exactly is it being played? I might be able to get off work on Saturday and head up for a look.

Paddy's health management game day
Geez you wonder how much time he'll spend off the ground doing that. Hopefully it doesn't affect him too much. I think Dale Weightman developed type 1 late in his career.

Reckon they'd check him on field when the ball us down the other end or after a goal. Only takes a few seconds. If there was a problem with levels, then take him from the field.

Won't be a problem.

Correct. We have experience with Jamie Cripps so there is no problem at all. If the under 18's can do it I cant see an issue.

Well that's a sick joke.

Why the heck don't they just stream the game then?

Very disappointing. Someone help me out here but I was sure that the Tigers streamed a praccy match played versus us from Punt Road a few years ago? It may have been Sandy v Richmond though. I cant quite remember.

But either way if Ch 7/Fox arent going to show it anyway - surely that allows a club to live stream. Seems crazy in this day and age. There is no loss to Ch 7/Fox. They get first dibs and declined. Crazy.

(edit: maybe the praccy game was outside nab challenge back in the knock-out days and we had both been knocked out so organised our own game?). This would explain the contractual stuff if the broadcast contract says 'exclusive rights to all h & a and 'nab challenge'.

From the Coach today:
We'll certainly be playing to win. We'll pick as strong a team that is available, but fundamentally the NAB Challenge will be used to prepare for round 1 season proper.

Paddy's health management game day
Geez you wonder how much time he'll spend off the ground doing that. Hopefully it doesn't affect him too much. I think Dale Weightman developed type 1 late in his career.
Unfortunately for Paddy, he can't wear an implanted monitor/injector because he's playing a contact sport. These little beauties are attached or imbedded in the wearer's side and deliver a constant stream of insulin as required. They cost about $ 70,000 a pop, but are well worth it for the constant monitoring ang accurate delivery. I feel for Paddy because this delivery method has been a godsend for so many type 1 diabetics. Hopefully, one day there will be a totally internal unit, but until then Paddy will have to do it the "old fashioned" way.

Apart from convenience the old fashioned way will be fine. I think Paddy will have a lot more problems over his career than diabetes.
