Can you actually tell us surnames for those not as close to the players as you. Do you mean cake and donut?

Thanks Saintbrat for all your efforts in giving us some idea of what is happening (a) within the club and (b) what is happening at the Intraclub game this morning. I know that us Saints members from interstate and overseas really do appreciate it

Not sure if it is our new clash or NAB Challenge guernsey - either way it looks fantastic, to see some sort of the famous candy striped and our first guernsey back!

Here's a little project for you.
Print out a map of Melbourne.
Put a pin on LHC at Seaford.
Put a pin on Moorabbin Oval.
See if that helps you out.

Moorabbin is a disgrace, I would rather they played any other ground in Australia rather than media and sponsors see Linton Street ATM. Think before posting about what works for you.

Re: Intra club Sat 21st- teams and news
Don't get your point at all. We train at Seaford so we play our practice matches there. No faculties good enough at Moorabbin and also it isn't to far for people who live out that way. Why wasn't it at Geelong so the Doctor could go?saintspremiers wrote:That's great for them.plugger66 wrote:saintspremiers wrote:Was thinking of going but too hot and too far.

Looking forward to the reviews of the game being ruined by a pissing contest regarding Moorabbin vs Seaford..

Dying to read reviews because in the end I couldn't make it out to Seaford due to a family commitment ...

Great news. Sponsoring Hugh this year and he is a fine young man.tony74 wrote:Anyone who is there ( and there's a big turn out ) would have to be impressed with Goddard.
Who else played well?
Who surprised?
Who disappointed?
Style of play?

Re: Intra club Sat 21st- teams and news
Hugh was very good, but I don't think he plays ahead of Shinners, Chips and Del, very happy with him though.
Membrey would have to be a lock for round one, does not miss and is a tank.
Poor old Markworth hurt his shoulder, did some ok things before that.
Dunstan dominated early, belongs in #7!
Billings, Newnes and Webster were quite good.
White = a beast, he and Lee impressed me today. As did Paddy early on.
Mav is manic at the ball or player - stood out. Ross and Armo were ok.
Poor old Lonie has some tricks but struggled with the pace/decision making as doesnt have the extra time compared to U18s.
Saady definitely putting his hand up for round one.

Re: Intra club Sat 21st- teams and news
Got there late as I walked 11kms to get there (on a fitness campaign), so not sure when I got there, maybe in the 2nd? They were short quarters whatever they played...
Certainly didn't walk away wowed by what I saw, maybe it was better early. Lots of dropped marks, terrible foot skills also, and a lack of scoring by both sides. Anyway it's early and was lots of 2nds and top ups out there.
Positives-
Goddard, he is going to be one mighty big unit. Will take a while obviously but looks the goods.
Membrey- Love his agression, he will be in the side as the Hamill role
Ross- had leather poisoning the more the game went on.
Billings and Webster both did some things on another level to the others out there. Jimmy could be the big improver this year
Didn't see much of Paddy whilst i was there, gave one good pass to Lee

Re: Intra club Sat 21st- teams and news
Jack Newnes was very, very good today. Got a lot of the ball, very hard at it, instrumental in a lot of forward thrusts. If there was anyone better out there today it was probably Sam Fisher who was flawless down back.
Paddy McCartin looks a good size. He competed well in the air and clunked a good pack mark and nice deliberate straight shot for goal. Later he found the ball at half back, spotted someone up in the middle and it led to a quick transition goal.
Hugh Goddard is also a great size. He played well a lot of the time and encouragingly always seemed to be in the right place to force a contest as the ball came in. He was out positioned a few times, once he really got lost letting Membery take an easy mark for a set shot goal. Sun might have been in his eyes.
Blake Acres moves well but he turned the ball over quite a bit, often taking an ill-advised short option. Seb turned the ball over too much for my liking also.
Jason Holmes was the equal of any ruckman out there.
I thought Lonie, Sinclair and Payne all looked like they had a bit going for them. Lonie probably tried to do a bit too much on occasion.

Seaford does though have a few good things going for it - a nice and beach and excellent retirement village!
