He was only about 19 years of age and also kicked 4 in a grand final so probably. These guys have been in the system for years and still haven't made it.

I would be amazed if all of our rookie picks were used only as LTI back ups.
Permission to train...just means that we are considering them as a possibility. History would indicate of the ones that train with us, that most do not get picked up.
On McKernan. He has ability. They may want to see if he as the hunger.
Petrenko? Could be him or Saad. But with Schneider too would look less likely.
Sliders. If one or more young players slide that we rate like Eli and Weller from last year, then we will rookie them instead. If they don't then players like Mckernan, Petrenko, Saad have more of a chance. A spot could also be used on someone like Delaney who has talent, but who also has an injury cloud.

you need at least 40 fit players on your list doing pre-season...if you want to siimulate match practise....on eof the reasons we invite players to do preseason with us.i....ncluding some sandy players...if they are any good added bonus that you can maybe pick one of them up.....ie weller last year...
