Round 7 Team v Hawthorn

Re: Round 7 Team v Hawthorn
I haven't seen much of the Hawks this year but their forward line contains:
Hale 201cm
Schoenmakers 195cm
Roughead 193cm
Gunston 193cm
Our defence minus Bruce looks a little short up against that. I guess it's something like:
Gwilt on Roughead
Delaney on Hale
Simpkin on Schoenmakers
Dempster on Gunston
And then Webster or Geary goes to Breust?

Re: Round 7 Team v Hawthorn
It's great news for the new guys, as well as Simpkin. We are looking a little short again on the backline, but the predicted wet conditions may help us there.
Exciting for the first gamers - MCG and against the premiership team. Let's hope that it is a positive experience, not a whitewash!

Re: Round 7 Team v Hawthorn
Did simpkin take shoemakers recently against Box Hill?
Is that partly why he was picked, after doing the job on him there?

Re: Round 7 Team v Hawthorn
Once again we go with a small defence, we should be giving Bruce all the game time he needs as he is the future as a tall defender. Simpkin is not the right size we have enough of that size player. Great news for Acres & Weller give them more than one week please.

Why was bruce dropped ?
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Round 7 Team v Hawthorn
Disappointed for both Bruce and Ross
Wanted them both to have more of a shot.
Hickey IMO clearly needs a rest due to injury, give him a few weeks to get his body right
Am excited to see Mave and Blake
Still want to see Dunnell

Bruce ommited is not a blight on his performance. On saints selection insider they said it was purely about giving simpkin an oppurtunity after a consistent patch of strong form in the vfl filling that role for the team. And good luck to simpkin, i say. There is room for he and bruce both in the st.kilda circa 2018 team
