Re: Negatives
I don't rate Josh Hunt. I can't work out why he is still playing AFL footy.samuraisaint wrote:I'm sorry, Giants should have won?!? Which game were you at. We won most if not all the important stats today. They had two dominant periods of about ten minutes each in the whole match, as did we. The difference was our experienced players were better than theirs out there this afternoon. They were very good, no doubt, but did not deserve to win. The better side on the day won. Defence were undersized and exposed by Giles...
Fumbling by Gilbert, Gwilt was concerning , even though they battled hard,
GWS should have won....
Savage, just panicked with each disposal, off the pace....
Roberton just struggling for form and position.... Gilbert and him? Do we need two 6'4" flankers!
Beau and Rhys still devoid of confidence ...... Just need to break the shackles and attack the game? Rhys did it once.
Some of the turnovers, out of the back half were horrible
More positive the negatives though....
Agree with your comments re: Maister and Stanley though. Cannot play both of them in the same side.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Negatives
My one major negative was the fitness or should I say lack of fitness for Savage. He came in as a sub late in the third and by half way through the 4th he was running up and down on the spot, calling to the bench asking to come off. gWS players were just running away from him with ease. He had a full preseason, perfect run in, but cannot run for half a qtr. very disappointing.

5 possessions from savage for 0% efficiency. Great get!
Virtually nothing from Roberton.
Maister can't get the basics right.
Fumbling from Gilbert, Dempster, Gwilt, Jones
Positives:
Great game from all the rest of our players including those fumble finger ones towards the end of the game.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Jones still has terrible disposal and gets team mates into trouble more often than not

Might be why Hawkthorn didn't pick him in their 2013 GF team.
Might be why he was traded.
Sandy need players, leave him there until he fires.

Re: Negatives
I can"t believe that comment by BM that the Giants should have won the St Kilda Football Clubs slogan at the moment is all about toughness and effort and we showed that in spades ,watched that game yesterday and the effort the boys put in compared to GWS was way better,to top it off we had the two most dominant players on the ground ,disappointed that you feel that way BM .It was a game that we deserved to win and did win ,well done boys!

Re: Negatives
Too early to tell with Savage but TDL experience might be telling us to stop going for blokes on the outer fringes of premiership teams!Wayne42 wrote:Maybe he's not up to it..elvis lives wrote:My one major negative was the fitness or should I say lack of fitness for Savage.
