Sounds like cost-cutting to me. From that perspective, how can the reported huge salary that the CEO gets, be justified on KPI performance ??

Re: Saints sack Greg Hutchison
Is that really a problem? In my job I work about ten or eleven hours a day, but I'm only in the office for eight of them. If he's getting the work done then who cares where he's doing it from?tony74 wrote:Trouble is if Pelchen is going to take up some of the slack, he'll need to be a little more punctual at the club. Re: Saints sack Greg Hutchison
I'm not too fussed about him "punching the clock". I doubt he's being paid by the hour, and if he was the club would probably need to chip in with overtime.
Its usually people that are punching the clock that make these sorts of grumblings.

Hardly think Pelchen's appearance at Seaford is comparable to the senior coaches (Blight). When Pelchen was working for Port Adelaide he lived and did most of his work in Hawthorn (Victoria).

Re: Saints sack Greg Hutchison
Do you know what arrangement Pelchen has with the club, does he have to be in his office every day, he might be all over the country talking to people, getting ready for the meat market.tony74 wrote:Trouble is if Pelchen is going to take up some of the slack, he'll need to be a little more punctual at the club. Re: Saints sack Greg Hutchison
As stated above - Pelchen does not have the sort of job where he needs to do 10 hours a day, 6 days a week at Seaford. Ditto Nettlefold. Quite the opposite.
We have had quite a top-heavy football department for a while - we have a Head of Football (great - crucially important role - accountable to board), a Head of List/Legal Affairs (great - list management vital with free agency now), a Head of Recruiting (great) and a Senior Coach (great).
To me Hutchison's role seemed rather redundant. I understand there are logistics and operations to be taken care of, but surely between Bains and Pelchen they are capable of looking after that stuff?
Plus Hutchison had been at the Saints for 7 years. Long time at the one club.
The crap about Pelchen and Watters driving the club into the ground is utter rubbish.

Hasnt Neil Balme got the same role at geelong. He seems to be fairly busy and they go OK. Its money for sure IMO.

Re: Saints sack Greg Hutchison
i know he was in charge of the logistics for interstate games ... basically if an interstate supporter group wanted access to a player or coach it had to be cleared by him

appears greg hutchinson wasn't universally loved and therefore won't be missed down seaford way.....
crackers keenan has a real wack at him in his corridor whispers column this week.....reckons his former teammate might find it a bit hard to get back into the foorty industry as .....

crackers more than hinted that there was a bit of strife amongst the saints....according to crackers a pending early ratification of a contract extension for the coach doesn't sit well with a couple f people and that there would be movement at the station...and not merely just in the playing group.........nettlefold appears to be just another causualty.......
