Or maybe he needed to work on some things before gaining promotion...and if he had been in a lot earlier before being polished maybe he would have been written off all ready.

So proud of Tom, noone has worked harder to get his opportunity and he is grabbing it with both hands. I thought I'd do some player comparisons;

Curren - K Jack
Steven - D Swan
Newnes - S Pendlebury
Ross - J Watson

Any others we can think of? Hopefully, we can add, Kelly/Aish - G Ablett to the list

Sometimes players just need to prove themselves at afl level and their deficiencies disappear. If Ledger got a go I think the same would happen for him. But it's probably too late now.

It wouldn't !

Seemed to do okay in his quarter 1/2 of football last week.

Funny they keep saying that poor old freo hardly had any seniors who could perform but this guy was on our rookie list a few weeks ago and he went better than just about any of Freo's guys. He really tries his guts out and doesn't care about putting his body on the line.

I think the club has always had him earmarked though- he is the only rookie I remember being so actively used for marketing. He's often modelling clothes and used in promo stuff despite his list status.

They said in commentary that Andrew Thompson said he smashes himself like no one he's come across in the gym. Thommo did pretty well off the rookie list as a small blonde running man actually too.

If he isn't on the senior list next year I am headed for the westgate.

seeing Curren today coming to bench, shiit he's bloody solid.. told the wife he looks like a Light heavyweight boxer.. just ripped.

Got a good look at him a few times today on the wing and he's a hard worker and hard as nails...very impressed with him. IMO he's going to be a gun.

Curren is the real deal. Made a couple of mistakes where he over rated the opposition and should have just taken them on and broken the line and ran back into trouble. But overall - he just looks he is determined to be a good AFL player. And by George it looks like he will! Well done to him.

He still needs the club to upgrade him to the official list, surely the list managers won't baulk at the opportunity

The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

I haven't seen many of the S'ham games but must be kept. Has shown too much in recent games to let go. This Club needs to see how he will develop as a player; not somewhwere else. I have high expectations.

He's got a four-quarter engine and that puts him in front of a lot of other young guys on the list.

you are right. how many rookies are part of the leadership group in any capacity? He is part of the developmental leadership group. He's doing ok. he will be updgraded and will probably play all 22 games next year.

Thomas the Tank Engine. It's a shame the fat controller is working in the docks these days.

I've never seen a bad St.Kilda player - that's just how they are.

Hopefully next year he'll be causing the opposition plenty of confusion and delay.
