Re: It was like supporting the Saints interstate
This argument that attending away games only contributes to the opposition's revenue is pretty dubious.
I appreciate for some people the cost might be an issue, but surely $20 is not that much for a GA ticket.
The main issue is surely to go along and support the team regardless of if it is a home or away game.
(Not including interstate/OS games as that clearly is a major cost issue).
The "I only go to home games" mentality really disappoints me.
The only thing worse is the "I'm not going because I think we'll lose" mentality.
In fact the away games and the "expected to lose" games are the games when fans should actually to lend support, and the "against the odds" wins are always the best wins.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

No. I will do what I feel I want to do. Who the hell do you think you are? You special? You a more pure supporter?jaxons wrote:However whether we are good or struggling if you are available come and barrack for the Saints at the footy please.
What a fcuking cheek - fairweather. How long have you supported the Saints? I have supported them through everything since the 60's. Since living in Melbourne I have watched them at Moorabbin, Waverley, and Docklands. I have been to training numerous, I have travelled to what the feeder teams (Frankston and Sandy).jaxons wrote:Don't be fair weather supporters.
So stick your fairweather barb where the sun dont shine. Have seen more 100 point thrashings of the Saints than you have had hot dinners.
I might, or might not come. None of your business. But I am sure being the true and pure supporter you are, the warrior who sticks thick and thin and isn't a lesser person and fairweather supporter like us 45 year supporters will be there bemoaning about our terrible supportersjaxons wrote:At least everyone try and come and make it a fortress against Carlton this Monday as any Stkilda supporter should hate Carlton more than any other opposition.

Jaxons, do yourself a favour and ignore the resident flogs on here like joffaboy and plugger66. It's impossible to have balanced, sensible and intelligent discussions, or share opinions with clowns like them.

Lenny and Roo get about 25 to 30 K to turn up. For that sort of money we'd sell out the G every week.Skildir wrote:Well said mate.jaxons wrote:There were hardly any Stkilda supporters there.
It is just embarrassing.
To all saints supporters who are not going please come each week and barrack for your team.
Lenny Hayes and Nick Riewoldt turn up every week so should you!
I started with nothing and I've got most of it left!

Re: It was like supporting the Saints interstate
Yeah, looking forward to going to the footy on a Monday night. What time does it start? 8pm? That might suit the club but it does not suit me. They already have my money.
I might vote with my feet and not turn up. Terrible time slot.

Re: It was like supporting the Saints interstate
Not sure Jaxsons asked anyone to justify themselves. It appeared a well meaning thread attempting to encourage more of us to go to the footy and yell a little louder. Pretty harmless really. Joffa appears to have taken it as a personal insult at him, which is quite amusing.
