Re: Gold Coast v Saints..Queens B/Day weekend
I'm up there agsain also, found Pacfair buses more than adequate last time.
PS Bev, my gf lives in Gods country just south of the border and I'm up there for rounds 4 and 5. If I want to meet fellow Sainters for a beer and big screen, Robina?

Sharks would be the best club on the Coast, only problem is, its a long way from anything. A lot of places do the $10 free drink deal and I will keep people posted closer to the time. Pls tell your sisters we meet at Robina Tavern and to come and join us.mr six o'clock wrote:Saint Bev wrote:They no longer allow parking at Emerald Lakes Gold Club regardless of whether you eat or not. Please keep us posted as i've heard from my sisters ( saints supporters who are suns members but support the saints when they play each other ) that some of the bus arrangements may have changed .
they live in mainbeach , travel to the southport sharks club , where for $10 you get a return bus trip to the ground and you get a drink voucher for the sharks club . pretty good value as the clubs facilities are great . also parking your car at the club , is probably better than at a shopping centre .

Yes I do this. Went last year it was a breeze.saint66au wrote:

Cheers in advance for any info!
Parked at Boowaggan Road park + ride.
Shuttle busses to and from were good and frequent.
I also hire a car, for if you are flying in you can normally get a car for the weekend for about the same cost as two taxi rides to and from the airport, and so then all of your other trips are basically free.

Cheers for all the useful tips folks. Ive also discovered that Pacific Fair is no longer the pickup/dropoff point for the shuttle buses. Its at Victoria Park bus interchange..which appears to be just across the road (and about 100m from where were staying )

Have just bought tickets through ticketmaster in Section 113. Hopefully there are other Saints supporters sitting nearby
At least there'll be some friendly faces in the vicinity

Will be going up for this also - how far ahead is it advisable to book tickets? Is it likely to sell out (no idea of the ground capacity).
Will probably be staying at the Crowne Plaza on the Gold Coast Hwy, so was figuring on grabbing a cab to the ground - only 10km's or so.

But then again it’s clear you’ll be up in the gold class seats while I’ll be down with the rest of the plebs

It might be good in theory to get a cab to and form the game however the cab lines are always really long so you will probably have to catch the bus back like most others.True Believer wrote:Will be going up for this also - how far ahead is it advisable to book tickets? I'm happy Zac Dawson's parents will not be on the bus this year. Such pricks.

Why no parking, seems like a crazy thing, thought we were trying to grow the game?
Maybe this year?

Re: Gold Coast v Saints..Queens B/Day weekend
The bus/train thing works pretty good, depending where you are staying on the Coast.
I used to park at Helensvale station and train to Nerang, but this year I've been parking near Nerang station.
Any queries about it, let me know guys!!!

Re: Gold Coast v Saints..Queens B/Day weekend
I've made the last minute decision to go up for the game. Cost me a bit extra compared to when I first looked a couple of months ago but oh well... I get to see the saints play and hopefully a little bit warmer weather then Melbourne so it's worth it.
Does anyone know of any pre or post match functions?

Hope things pick up a bit. The Weather Channel is only showing up to Thursday the 7th however they're predicting a week of showers and temperatures of about 21C leading up to the gameSaint_Ash wrote:I've made the last minute decision to go up for the game. 21C is still better than 12C......

Don't know where you live Stevie, I live in Varsity Lakes and it was 10 last Sat night, a chilly one though. Most nights are around 15, day temps are around 22.
Just letting everyone know that there will be an open training session on Friday the 8th, 3.30 at Metricon. Players will be available for autographs after + there may be a bbq (awaiting confirmation).
Also on Saturday there will be a Cocktail Party party prior to the game at the Pines Hotel, starting at 2.00pm. Tickets will include bus to the ground, bookings through St Kilda.
NOTE - there will be NO post match functions.
For anyone buying tickets, we are sitting in Section 108 row c
Will post confirmed details as soon as I know.

Re: Gold Coast v Saints..Queens B/Day weekend
I live in Oxenford, Bev, behind Wet and Wild. We have our own weather system there, called 'The Roundabout'.
All the cool air and storms come over from Tambourine!
I rang u last year to get info about the Saints game here. I was trying to find out if the boys trained on the Friday. I rang the club itself and was told they don't train the day before a game when interstate. I thought that was odd seeing as they were playing at Metricon for the first time.
I will try and get to the training, bring the kids straight from school

RL trained 2 days before a games, SW trains one day before a game. Actually that would bethe fitness advisors deciding that not the coach.
