Simpkin lined up against his older brother, Jonathon Simpkin, in the Saints win over Geelong in Round 1 of NAB Cup last Friday night.
“It’s a bit strange playing against him, but it’s probably the fourth time we’ve come across each other now so we’re starting to get used to it. But it’s good. The family love it.”
The rising defender is benefiting from an enhanced coaching structure which includes Assistant Coach Danny Sexton and Specialist Defensive Coach and former St Kilda great Max Hudghton.
“Working close with guys like Maxy and Danny has been great because of the knowledge and experience they share. It’s really helpful to tap into those resources and I think I’m getting a lot of benefit out of their work.”
