McIntosh was equal second in the 1971 Brownlow, and is one of my all time favourites. He was injured during the final series, and unable to play in the 71 Grand Final.
Seven points was the final margin.
Who knows what the outcome would have been if McIntosh was fit to play?
In 1972 John was carried off VFL Park on a stretcher against Collingwood.
They did not have the knowledge that they now have to fix his injury.
Never to play again.
Agree, magnificent footballer. From memory I think he did a knee, if so, would now be a 12 mth break, and up and playing again.
Certainly never played for St Kilda again, not sure back in W.A.

As soon as I saw his youtube highlights reel I though that Ledger would be the standout recruit for St Kilda. All we need now is the regular game time required to fullfill that talent.

We really do have quite amazing WA influence at present amongst players and coaches.
But with George Young and Winmar being amongst my favourite past StKilda players I am not complaining.
Watters is from Subi .... The claremont subi rivaly is much like the pie blues rivalry

Ive never been that sure about Ben as captain. BJ should be once roo isn't, but if he goes to gws it could be wide open for ledger.

No, no, no, I reckon our next captain will be Seb Ross. It was going to be Tommy Walsh, but he went to Sydney.

Tom would need to improve his training and be more professional around the club if he is to be considered a leader, which should happen over time.
He is often laconic and lazy until the balls come out then the switch gets flicked and he goes into grunt mode.
Proudly assuming the title of forum Oracle and serving as the inaugural Saintsational ‘weak as piss brigade’ President .

Only 18/19 though so I somehow doubt that it will be a problem in the future.

The NAB cup showed we had a good year recruiting with Ledger and Crocker both looking great early.
I think Cripps will be a gem too, Ledger reminds me of Dal Santo, just looks natural with the footy in his possession.

Tell me you are joking about the NAB cup telling us anything.
