Missed it by that much...Johnny Member wrote:It seems that the OP and some others, took umberdige to Leon Davis waving the ball arrogantly in an opposition player's face.plugger66 wrote:Obviously. Can you tell me the point?Johnny Member wrote: You've clearly missed the point of this thread too.
They found it to be an act of arrogance, and disrespect.
So to you answer your question about why there aren't threads about all opposition players, only Leon Davis - it's because all opposition players don't wave the pill in other players' faces in an arrogant and disrespectful manner.
If they did, I'd wager there'd be a thread on here for every time it happened.
Leon Davis

Leon Davis is an example of something that RL good as he is, does wrong.
Here is a player with good skills that ultimately couldn't hack it as a forward.
To MM credit, he recognised his strengths and reinvented him as a running backman utilizing his speed and skills.
Like Aussie Jones b4 him, he looks a millions bucks on a HBF
HBF is the easiest position to play on the ground.
We have too many HBF and not enough players thatcan play forward... can we please stop getting HBF...
Gram, Gwilt, Fisher, Clarke, Gilbert, Goddard, Lynch, Geary and Cripps (recruited as a back)
we've got plenty of them, some of them have got to play else where

I wasn't going to post after the game initially, but doesn't it occur to anyone that Mag doesn't normally do that sort of thing- fair chance there was a reason for it. I'm not saying I know anything was said, but for him to do that (was it Milne chasing?) suggests to me that there was probably a bit of verbal stoushing between the two and that was just a bit of an over-the-top response.

Yes. Put me just under your "this thread is racist" quote.plugger66 wrote:Well that makes sense. I will add you to the senseless list. You may be leading that now.satchmo wrote:Sure, it must be someone elses fault that he's an arrogant c***.
And if you think that discussing leon's arrogance is racist then you are a stupid little afl apologist.

If that was directed at me- not saying it's someone elses fault, just saying that Milne has a mouth on him, he was probably sledging Davis throughout the game- and there's plenty to sledge Davis for- and Davis, having completely pantsed the Saints forwards, was giving some back. Great to see, and I'm delighted he had the confidence to do it with a fair bit of time left in the game. It'd be different (IMO) if it was after the siren.satchmo wrote:Sure, it must be someone elses fault that he's an arrogant c***.

Versus.
What we saw = Facts.
Players rarely behaive like that... as it is a complete show of arrogance.
Especially for someone who doesn't have the runs on the board, he's tempting fate imo.
Thats why its being discussed.
Go assume somewhere else.

On his game and his flame. Loose man in defence often gets a lot of kicks. Really need to compare it with the spare at the other end. Our bloke got it a lot too, but kicked it straight to the opposition on a number of occasions. On the flame - who cares - but if I was him, I'd wait till I had a medal around my neck that I had actually earned in the winning game and not been dropped for.
And Mag is one player I've never seen act like that, in twelve years at the club. Sure, he used to have pretty dicky goal celebrations, but he's never been one to do that sort of thing before. Therefore... perhaps there was a reason?Leo.J wrote:You are making assumptions = No Facts.Grantaire wrote:If that was directed at me- not saying it's someone elses fault, just saying that Milne has a mouth on him, he was probably sledging Davis throughout the game- and there's plenty to sledge Davis for- and Davis, having completely pantsed the Saints forwards, was giving some back. Well he did contribute a pretty important goal that kept us in the drawn GF, not sure if you remember. So he played some part at least.perfectionist wrote:On his game and his flame. He appears to do the ball-pointing thing often when he kicks in from a point.. so yeah he was probably pointing to a team mate.Leo.J wrote:Says who?Slugworth wrote:davis was not taunting the player, he was indicating to his team mate to shepherd the player chasing him. i swear some of our supporters are delusional and on drugs.
I heard it was on channel Eddy's footy show.
Did they have some different footage?
We should really be discussing whether Goddard deliberately stood on Tarrants hand. We can't get too high and mighty about respecting the opposition.

I guess that means he is more qualified to coach than bucks. I wonder if he's waved it at nathan yet?perfectionist wrote:but if I was him, I'd wait till I had a medal around my neck that I had actually earned in the winning game and not been dropped for.
