You are right of course.Â
So it is your "opinion" that Ross Lyon will continue to draft injured players even if other clubs medico's can't fix them? And this is based on a long history of such players that starts with Jesse Smith and ends with Jesse Smith? Â

Yes, you're right Doc it was very cynical of me to suggest that we may have wasted a draft pick on Smith and would do so on Bradshaw.Dr Spaceman wrote:No probs bob, and no fee.saintbob wrote:Thanks for the diagnosis Doc, but I actually thought these forums were to get peoples differing opinions!!!Dr Spaceman wrote:Must be hard being so cynical all the time bob  :roll:saintbob wrote:With our recruiting history over the last few seasons, we might just pick up Bradshaw, because RL has shown in the past even if other clubs medico's can't fix them he's still prepared to waste a pick!!!

smith wasn't a wasted pick as they probably wouldn't have used it anyway.saintbob wrote:With our recruiting history over the last few seasons, we might just pick up Bradshaw, because RL has shown in the past even if other clubs medico's can't fix them he's still prepared to waste a pick!!!

0 games, a base salary and thousands of dollars in medical bills.SaintPav wrote:smith wasn't a wasted pick as they probably wouldn't have used it anyway.saintbob wrote:With our recruiting history over the last few seasons, we might just pick up Bradshaw, because RL has shown in the past even if other clubs medico's can't fix them he's still prepared to waste a pick!!!

If Fev gets fit, and plays a blinder season in the VFL, you can bet at least one or two clubs will 'gamble' (poor choice of words!) on having Fev for a couple of years. The Dogs gambled on Hall. He won 'em a night flag and kicked a few goals but may not do much more.
The reason i say no to Hawkins is...I'm sick of being stirred by Geelong a*sh*les who say the Saints take Geelong rejects, eg Chalie Gardiner. Steve King was ok and Gamble may be good, so I'm not sure.
The deciding factor for me is...are the next few years 'top up' or 'rebuild'? If it's top up, Fev could fill a hole up forward.

In honour of those who went before, in the dark and desperate years.

Any draft pick is a lottery.
We didn't win the flag last year either, is our entire club outgoings for the season wasted money too?
